...

In the far off mountains stood a singular house wich's roof was always covered in snow. There, a boy, his mother and siblings lived in peace. They had a coal business. He would pack a basket with blocks of coal and leave later in the morning to sell the merchandise to the village at the very bottom of the hill.

One day as he came back from work, he started sniffing a strange scent. It felt human, yet it was like an animal. He stayed aware but kept walking home. He would occasionally gaze around just to be safe. He finally arrived at his destination.

He unpacked the little coal left and entered the living room. A small crowd gathered all around him as he sweetly looked at the little ones. "You're back!" Said two little ones, excited. "Will you play with us now?" Continued another boy. "But you said you would help me fix my kimono!" Pouted a little girl. "Yes, yes. I will do all that,"answered the one crowded. "But first, I need to say hello to mom." With those words said, he made himself a path to the kitchen.

"Hey, mom! I'm back," He said from the corner of the kitchen's door frame. "Oh, hi Tanjiro! Did everything go well?" Said a young looking woman. She had pretty black hair tucked under a white drape. Her kimono had a checkerboard pattern in purple and light peach color. We could only see the collar of it since she wore a white dress over. Her beautiful purple eyes shone with a sincere smile within them.

-Yes, I practically sold everything! – He replied eagerly, returning the smile.

-That's good. I've made rice crackers, do you want some? – She asked as she raised a plate filled with appetizing white discs. – You can also share with your brothers and sisters, I'm sure they will appreciate it!

-I will count on me! –He grabbed the plate by its two sides and carefully brought it back to the living room. He gently placed it on a low table and took on from the plate. – You can take some too! –He spoke to his siblings before getting back to his mother.

He walked and tapped on her shoulder lightly to get her attention.

-Sorry, but have you seen Nezuko? –He asked.

-Not since mid day. She went up the mountain to fetch some vegetables. She will probably come back sooner or later. –She affirmed.

Tanjiro slightly bent to thank her and jugged to the entrance door. He made sure to close it behind himself before he started to follow the footsteps in the snow. "I will just go and make sure she is alright," he thought.

Soon, it was day break and the sun was starting to lower. He had yet to find his sister and he began to worry. That same faint scent got to his naustrauls and his stress rose again. He was exhausted from walking and yet, his feet would not stop following the faded prints on the ground.

He pulled the rice cracker he grabbed earlier and took a bite out of it. It was so cold, he could barely even feel his earrings hitting the side of his face as the wind violently danced. The light was already gone for the most part. He took a look around him and realized there were no longer any footsteps in the snow.
He looked back and couldn't see his own. The curious scent became even more intense as he searched around for the path to get back home. The snow had already reached up to his thigh. "Nezuko!" He screamed.

Suddenly, a hollow and dry sound resounded against the trees. He turned his bust around to see a figure standing on the verge on a slightly higher platform. When paying a bit more attention, he noticed that what seemed to be a man held his sister, unconscious and hurt, bridal style.
