The trees, bushes and leaves rustled in the calming breeze.
You took joy in it, Zevil Island was in no way similar to Yokaru island. But still, it was a island at least? That's gotta count for something

You cautiously strode around, keeping to the east side of the island where it was more cliffs and rocky terrain. You spotted a river not too far from where you walked so that was a plus.

You were fine where you were, as long as you stayed away from the west side of the island where the beach rested.

You had no idea where your friends were, you having left the boat first but you weren't sure if you'd like to run into them. Especially since you still had to hunt for your target but maybe when you were finished then it would be optimal.

Your target, #87, was a dangerous foe. That much was obvious. And he could use Nen, all the better. It was the sense of foreboding that filled the room or air wherever he walked, his aura filling every space imaginable.

And it wasn't nice, not at all.

But outwardly, he didn't seem to have a physical weapon which ment he was either a close handed hand to hand combator or he primarily used his Nen ability.

But the second option was unlikely.

Yes his aura made your skin prickle and your blood lust spike but he wasn't at the stage to have a Nen ability.
That much you could sense.

He most likely only had the bases down, using Ten and Ren. But considering the fact he didn't hide his Nen, showed he was either cocky or just hasn't learned Zestu.

But ignoring that, it has been nearly what? Five hours since you stepped foot on the island and he still hadn't revealed himself from his hiding place.

Perhaps he thought you were stupid? You had Zetsu mastered, and so obviously on his level he wouldn't have even detected the fact you know Nen.

But on more serious matters...

How much more were you going to have to walk? Perhaps you should set up camp early, the cliffs and rocky terrain made it perfect for caves and such.

<--------------------------->

Zeref, or better known as applicant #87, was a killer.

Plain and simple.

His backstory was depressing.
He came from a poor family, the family business of a butchery losing more and more customers every day.

It wasn't until his father was given a contract, his father would be paid handsomely if the dear butchery would be used as a front for organ harvesting.

Now at this point in Zeref's story, his mother was terminally ill and his amputee brother who lost both his legs were desperately in the need of medical help.

But his father refused the contract.

So Zeref signed it instead.
And as a gift, Zeref personally delivered his father's internal organs to his new business partner.

And sadly, although not really in Zeref's opinion, his mother died despite the best doctors taking care of her.
And Zeref's brother sadly had to be cut out of the picture, literally, after he found out how their father disappeared.

So overall, not that depressing really. Zeref was very happy at his new job of a rookie assassin, hunting and harvesting the very pieces and parts a human needs to live.

And him in the beginning stages of learning Nen has really proved to be a investment if anything.

Even if his Nen master refused to continue teaching Zeref, causing the very sad accident of his master's death. His master was ever so trusting.
