The clock ticked away as Ian tapped his foot on the floor. His sneakers slightly squeak as he taps. The last class of the day it was almost over, and Thanksgiving break was about to start, so he was giddery. He thought about how he could spend his break, doing nothing interesting, probably. Maybe hang out with Luca. Luca has been his best friend for about a year now. He met him in the clay club at the beginning of February last year, and he's been by his side ever since. Then the bell went off. It was different from the middle school bells. It sounded like a security alarm like you stole something at Walmart. It always startled Ian. He grabs his bag and prepares to leave.

"Have an amazing day!" The teacher exclaimed she was always very loud. He headed to the door and to the hallway as he walked he saw Luca they glanced at each other and gave a slight wave from the sight of it you would even know they knew each other let alone they were friends but that was just the way Luca was towards the world and Ian was not an exception, Ian tried to not take it to heart as it caused arguments in the past so he had gotten used to it. Ian heads to the bus with his earbuds in looking at the sidewalk below him. As he sat slumped over in the bus seat with his leg up, he texted Luca. "Hey."

"Oh, hi," Luca replied.

"So you got anything planned during break?" Luca asked.

"Not really. My family doesn't really have any traditions," Ian explains.

Ian had a bad habit of talking about his broken family a lot since he never had therapy. It kinda annoyed Luca, but he always tried to emphasize with him.

"We could go ride bikes. Maybe around the neighborhood." Luca texted.

"Yeah, ok." Ian replied

With that, Ian turned off his phone to continue to listen to music as the bus finally started pulling out.
