athanasius had awakened in a place that was completely unfamiliar.
he didn't remember falling asleep so how did he end up here?
"where am i..? how did i end up here?" he asked himself as he looked around
he was sat in a chair with a table in front of him and a chair at the opposite end of the table
he then looked at the teacup in front of him
"lippe tea? i haven't drank this since..i last visited my mother." he said as he observed the drink inside
"it's been awhile prince." a woman's voice had said
athanasius recognized the voice, he didn't look up yet but he knew who this woman was.
he widened his eyes as his shaky hands turned into fists to prevent him from crying
he looked up and was met with the woman he missed dearly his mother diana.
she frowned "you aren't usually so quiet..are you still upset at what i've done? do you not forgive me yet?" she asked him softly
he then felt tears leave his eyes as he immediately stood up and ran to her
diana smiled as she opened her arms prepared for what was to happen
"i-i've missed you so much.." he sobbed out
"i've missed you as well my prince.." she breathed out a laugh as she hugged him "it's be so long since i've been able to hug you."
"w-why did you..leave me and father.." he cried more as she reassuringly caressed his white hair
"someday you'll understand why i chose to give up my life for athanasia." she smiled as he pulled away so she could wipe his tears like she'd always done for him
"but..you've gotten so big now athanasius. you look much older than from what i remember" she smiled at him lovingly
he sighed as he finally backed away
"why are you here mother?" he sniffled as he asked this question
"ah..i can't leave yet athanasius im worried.." she laughed nervously
he tilted his head in confusion as he mumbled "why..?"
"not just for you..but for my daughter athanasia something will happen in the future." she had said
"mother i promised that i'd protect her even if it meant that i'd—" he was then interrupted by her teary face
"if it meant you'd die first?" she said as she wiped her tears
athanasius sighed as he got on his knee's in front of diana "mother you shouldn't worry about that nothing bad in the future could happen to me or athanasia that causes me to sacrifice my own life." he had said
"and if there is something that does happen? then what." diana had said
"then i'll do whatever it takes to stay alive..i won't leave my dear sister in a world like this on her own."
diana smiled "you're willing to give up you're life for her?"
"though i don't truly understand why you'd gave up your life and future for her yet it doesn't mean it's her fault you're gone."
