"Delilah, please wake up sweetheart. I know you don't want to get up but you have to"
Umph, thud
"WHAT THE FUCK, WAS THAT?", I say as I look over my shoulder, throwing my pillow off of my head.
"That was the sound of me, throwing your shit out of here since you wanna be so difficult getting up. I tried to be nice but you wanna act like you can't hear nobody. Fuck that."
Groaning and making inhumane noises while I get out of the bed, I convince and restrain myself from throwing my sister across the room.
Don't get me wrong, I love my sister, Hope. She's the best support system and the most loyal and understanding person anyone could ever come across, but her ass is annoying as hell sometimes and she knows it. She know just as much as I do I stayed up all night doing a paper for my class.
Looking over at my clock, I notice that it's 6:40. This bitch must be out her damn mind.
"Hope, care to explain why you're waking me up 40 minutes than I usually wake up? You do understand that school doesn't start until 8:00, right?"
"Shut up, with ya smart ass. I woke you up early cause I'm leaving for an interview in five minutes and I didn't want you to oversleep and be late for school. You and me both know your education is the most important thing on both of our minds, so stop asking questions and go brush your teeth."
Walking to my bathroom, I notice that the bruises on my light skin are turning a yellow color. I can't help the tears that start to brim my eyes, but I force them away just as fast as they came. Looking in the mirror, I take in my features like I have a million times since I was a little girl, my deep dark brown chocolate eyes with gold flecks in them. My hair, the same color brown complimenting my tan skin, stopping midway of my back matted to my hair from a wild night of sleep. My round face that still slightly has my chubby cheeks, is slowly slimming out. And my hour-glass frame that everyday I thank god for.
I can't complain about my appearance, it's something I'm very thankful for. My African-American father and Caucasian mother truly blessed me in the looks department, buts that's the only thing they provided for me and Hope.
After turning on some music from my phone, I hop in the shower and wash my hair and body. I continue with my usual hygiene regimen and wrap a towel around me walking back into my room.
Glancing at the clock on my nightstand, I notice that it's now 7:00. Hope must of took off while I was in the bathroom. I walk to the closet and pick out my outfit. Faded blue skinny jeans, a fitted navy blue top, and some white vans. Throwing my now damp hair into a messy bun and walking over to my vanity, I add some natural but flawless makeup to my face still wrapped in my towel. After I put my under wear on and throw my clothes on I then head downstairs to the kitchen.
Hope being our main financial support in our house keeps the fridge stocked with food. Though that may be the case, I never take advantage of our stable life cause it wasn't always like that. It used to be hard. Glancing at my phone I notice it's now 7:30.
"Congratulations, Lilah, you've achieved actually finishing something early for once in your life." I say to myself. I take an apple from the fruit bowl, since I'm not a morning eater, and head out the front door with my book bag and keys in hand while locking the door.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Damn, D! You look good as fuck today. You must of known you was gonna see daddy today!" Jason says as he looks me up and down taking in my appearance.
Chuckling, I roll my eyes at his childish self. "Boy, shut up. I look just like I do any other day. You're so dramatic, I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt."
"But with a body like that, Lilah, you could wear anything.", says Claire, my bestie.
I just got to the school parking lot and already my friends are being crazy, I don't want to be here. I mean I love my friends and my education but being here means I have interact and interacting has been getting harder and harder lately. While ignoring my two best friends bickering, I look over and see a tall guy in all black staring at me. He was at good distance, being that I was on the complete other side of the parking lot, but no matter how far I was I don't think I could ignore his deep blue eyes against his tan skin and black hair.
"Hey, C? Who's he?" I ask Claire when I tear my gaze from him.
"Huh? Oh! Him he's new, I've never seen him, which means he has to be new cause I know everything about this dumb ass school", she says while flipping her long blonde hair and Jason rolls his green eyes. I giggle at her comment.
The late bell rings and we all three stroll into the school, while mystery guy walks his tall frame in front of us.
"Hey, man!" ,
Jason says from behind him, shocking me and Claire. Mystery guy looks back at the three of us.
"Hm?" He says to Jason, making swift eye contact with me before giving Jason his attention.
Jason gives him a friendly smile against his chocolate skin and says, "You new here?"
"Yeah,"mystery guy says.
"Well what's you're name?" Claire says.
"Wolfe, y'all's?"
What kind of name is that? I think.
Wolfe looks at me as if reading my mind before a smirk appears on his face.
"Well I'm Jason, this blonde bombshell is Claire. And that sexy mixed chick that's acting all shy and whatnot is Delilah, but I call her D cause she won't take mine."
I glare at Jay, and Claire howls in laughter while slapping Jason.
"Don't mind him, he's stupid. Do you need help with your classes? Lemme see!", Claire says enthusiastically while snatching Wolfe's schedule and looking, scanning it like the excited cheerleader she is.
While her and Jason argue over what's the fasted way to get to which class, me and Wolfe stare at one another.
"So", he says "why haven't I heard you say a single word?" A smirk playing on his full pink lips.
"Not much to say, I mean you're a stranger and I don't do well with those like my welcoming friends. But it's nice to meet you" , I say politely and awkwardly.
Wolfe just watches me for a moment before looking at my friends and gracefully grabbing his schedule while they still bicker.
"Can you tell me where my classes are since my welcoming committee are a bit busy," he says with laughing eyes and a grin.
"Sure" , I say cordially.
I take his schedule and my mouth drops open. All classes. With me.
Looking up at him with a shocked expression, he gives me a questioning look.
"Um, all your classes are with me. So let's go, I guess," I say and start to walk leaving my crazy friends and him trailing behind me.~~~~~~
