You were sitting in your room. Only darkness was around you and they finished making sure everyone was asleep. After the guards left the hall you rolled off your bed, landing on the floor quietly. You slowly reached under your bed, pulling out 10 candles and a box of matches.
" Darkness is no longer safe " you said to yourself " Not with all the murders in here, no more sleep for me... "
You lit the candles and sat in silence. Suddenly a creak of a door being opened rang through the room. Your head shot up and stared at the pale man standing in the doorway. His features were unlike any you had ever seen. His skin was white as paper, hair a raven burnt black, he had black rim around his eyes, which seemingly never closed, his eye color was a light ice burg blue. And his smile, his smile was cut into his cheeks.
You two stared at each other for a while until he broke the stare and silence.
" What's wrong? Aren't I beautiful? " he asked, smirking. You slowly raised from the ground and walked over to him, planting a hand on his scared cheek.
" Your the most beautiful person I've ever seen " you said with a smile on your face. He looked at you, shocked. Suddenly you felt a cold metallic feeling on your neck.
" You know what, your almost as beautiful as me, so I won't kill you... Yet, I'll come back. Either to kill you, or talk. Depends on my mood. Goodbye for now " and with that, he closed your door and left down the hall. You felt a bit of warm liquid dripping down you neck but you didn't care. You blew out the candles, his them and went to sleep, for once happy.
