Mom
Hey baby! How are you doing?
Me
(Yawns) Oh, hey ma. I'm good. Just got off of work about thirty minutes ago.
Mom
(Concerned) Just got off of work? Boy, it's 9pm! What time did you go in?
Me
...3AM.
Dad
That's right son! Get that money!
Me
(Laughs) I'm trying to get like you, pop.
Dad
No, I'm trying to get like you!
Mom
Yes, yes, get the money and all that. We're very proud of you son, griding in your early 20s. And saving lots of money. You are saving money, right?
Me
(Laughs and rolls my eyes) Yes, I'm saving money.
Mom
Good. And what are you doing for fun?
Me
...fun?
Mom
Yes, what do you do with your life outside of work?
"I stare up at my spinning ceiling fan for a few moments, speechless"
Mom
Helloooooo?
Me
I mean, I don't really do anything out of work. I work so much that I don't really have much time to do anything else.
Mom
Look baby, we're proud of you. Really. But you need to give yourself a purpose outside of work. Working, sleeping and then eventually dying isn't a very fulfilling life. Do you feel fulfilled right now?
Me
No...not really.
Mom
Do you still even play your video games? What about that Naruto game you were into a few years back?
