Between Reality

The Start of Ezz's Journey Part 1:

🩷Third-Person Point of View🩷

It was almost dark. You could hear the leaves moving side to side. A windy chill was going through the forest. The sun was almost setting. The last part of the sun was shining on the ground, making the snow look like crystals. The forest was going to become dark. You can hear all types of birds like owls, sparrows, and even the loud ass crows. The cold was coming into the forest, fast.

The evergreen of the trees where still there. It was the season of winter. The days were getting shorter, and the nights got longer. It is cold, so the body has to work harder, which leads to increased endorphin production. The body releases endorphins to help the body survive. When the body feels pain, nerves in the body send pain signals to the brain. The brain releases endorphins to block the nerve cells that receive the pain signals. This essentially turns off your pain. More endorphins in your body give you a happier state of mind while at the same time relieving stress. So winter is a great way to feel more happy.

At least a foot of blanket of snow was lying across the forest. A few trees have some snow on the top. A few parts of the snow fall off the trees. There was a crunching noise coming from afar. It sounds like people are walking.

Two people were walking, an old man and an old women. They had their arm linked with each other. They each have gray, almost white hair. They were both wearing winter-style traditional Japanese clothes. They were just walking, just chatting about the small things until there was a flash of light from the distance. Stopping for a moment they looked at each other. The woman has a face of worry while the man looks concerned. They both knew that anything could have happened in the woods. But what worries them, is that they made sure that they wouldn't be found by a certain someone. And seeing the light was concerning.

The lady holds onto the man while the man takes out his sword from his old days. After his retirement, he still holds onto it to keep him and his wife safe. They walked and quietly went to the light they saw. After a while, they made it to the area. Looking around they didn't see anything out of the normal. They decided to walk away just in case, turning around they were about to walk. Until they heard a noise. The man turns back around while keeping his wife close behind. Walking forward he looks around trying to see what it was. There was a big rock near the middle so he went towards it.

They both made it while still looking. The woods were almost quiet which was making them more paranormal. Whenever something dangerous was around, animals would be able to feel it and run away or hide. Sure when it's winter, things become more quieter. But where they live, there are many animals out throughout the seasons, no matter how hot or cold it is. There was a noise again but it was faint this time, and it sounded like it was nearby. The man, of course, didn't hear it too busy looking around. The woman, being the curious lady she is. Went to look. Thinking it was just an animal. She carefully went behind the rock, and now looking she let out a soft and quiet gasp. The man looked at his wife asking what was wrong. The lady didn't answer just grabbed his arm and pulled him to look.

The man was confused and looked before doing the same thing. The reason why they were surprised. There was a girl, a child, or at least a young teen. They look around and then look at each other. So many questions and concerns were all they could feel. Why would a child be left here? Even when it's winter? And why was there a flash? Deciding. They will take the kid. The lady takes the young teen into her arms while the old man helping her. Once the kid was in her arms, they started to head back to their home.

Making it home safe, the lady takes the young teen into the extra room they have, that they use for storage. There wasn't much stuff, just a few wooden boxes. The man meanwhile made sure that everything was closed and locked. The front door and windows. The lady is now in the room. Putting the girl down, she starts to get the extra bed stuff and places it down. She put the girl into the bed and made sure she was wrapped up before she closed and locked the window. Sighing. She went out of the room, to the kitchen to make some food for everyone. Leaving the door open just to be safe.
