TW: This poem contains a brief mention of self harm, suicidal ideation, and a depiction of depression.
I'm sick, sick of living
My mind burdened with illness.
Mental and physical pain intertwine,
Cuts and burns etched upon my skin.I'm sick, my thoughts and body feeble,
Each step an insurmountable climb.
Inside, I'm drowning, reaching out,
But no one turns their gaze.I'm sick, but behind a smile, my suffering hides,
Unseen, unnoticed by those around.Though when I finally utter, "I'm sick,"
A cool hand grazes my forehead.
And their response: "You're not sick, you're fine."
But beneath the facade, a deeper truth,
An illness ingrained, invisible to measure.I'm sick, from depression, an ailment that devours,
Like a virus spreading through my being,
Leaving no part untouched, no semblance of health.
Untreated, it spreads, weakens, drains.I'm sick, my depression a relentless captor,
Enveloping, controlling, slowly destroying.
A battle that feels impossible to win,
A disease with no known cure.I'm sick, and the severity looms,
A constant tormenting shadow
A sickness that proves fatal.
