Lorelei's POV:

Nik and I take off out of the woods.

He heads for the house.

I scope out around town.

There's a movie night going on in the town square so the streets are packed full of people making their way towards the large projector and screen. I scan the streets and around the parking lot before making my way into the Mystic Grill. There's nothing. I'm not sure if I should be looking for Rebekah herself or her in her coffin. Either way I keep an eye out for both just in case. Nik had been smart to hide her away. I was pissed for her. No matter what Nik says, she didn't deserve it.

I doubt any of them did.

Except Kol.

Nik and I daggered him after he slaughtered a town.

Nik said he was causing too much attention.

So down into the coffin he went, dagger in his chest.

I look up and down the roads, walking through the alleyways and entering shop after shop before giving up on the town entirely.

I'm part vampire now.

I can't exactly break into people's homes.

Compelling each and everyone would take too much time.

So would searching.

I let out an angry sigh as I pull out my phone.

I pull up the phone icon and click on Nik's name.

I put it up against my ear as it rings.

"Did you find anything?" He asks

"No. I was about to ask the same for you. There's no sign of who took her?" I ask

"It's as if she just vanished. Everyone else is accounted for. There's no sign anyone else has even been here other than my vampires and the two hybrids. She could be anywhere!"

All of a sudden it's as if by magic, I see her.

Rebekah is walking down the street across from me.

When she turns and sees me, her eyes widen when she sees that I'm on the phone. She puts a finger to her lips and shakes her head 'no.'

"Hello? Are you still there?" Nik asks

"Yeah. Sorry. I've searched all the public areas and haven't found anything. What's next, the woods?" I question

There's a long pause.

"I'm waking Elijah and Kol. We need to find her." Nik says

I don't know what to say in response to this.
On one hand, if I tell him that Rebecca is conscious and sign, she might come after her again. On the other hand, if I say nothing, and he wakes Elijah and Kol, I might actually have some back up in this disaster that he put us in, raising up his army. I open my mouth to speak, realizing I hadn't said anything in quite a few minutes when suddenly a woman I recognized to be Caroline Forbes appears behind Rebekah, snapping her neck. I moved to help her and suddenly I feel something stab me. I feel the world fade away. Everything goes black.

When I wake hours later, everything in my body aches.

I'm on a cold cement floor.

Looking around I see that I'm locked in a dark cell with iron bars.

I feel the dred creeping in.

What the hell happened?

"Wake up." A voice says from behind the door

I groan, rolling from my stomach onto my side, facing the door.

" What the fuck do you want?" I groan

"You killed my best friend, helped your boyfriend take my girlfriend's blood to make more of his psycho hybrids and stole my brother."

I smile as the puzzles come into place.

"Ah. Damon Salvatore. Nik told me you were quite... Unremarkable. Tell me what you did to me."

"You answer me first."

"Yes I killed your friend. I was hungry. He was a human. We're vampires. It's kind of what we do. Second, I don't approve of Klaus making hybrids, but I don't really get a decision in that matter and as to your brother's situation , well, that's the same answer as the previous question. I don't exactly help Nik because I have an evil heart. I just have no choice." I tell him

"That's not good enough."

"Your next."

"I pumped you full of a sweet little cocktail of vervain and wolfsbane. You'll be on your ass for the next 24 hours at least. That should give me plenty of time."

"For what?"

" I answered your question. Now you answer mine."

" I did."

" Well, it wasn't good enough."

" I drained your vampire-hunting buddy of his blood until his heart stopped beating. Nothing I tell you is gonna be enough. I know you won't kill me. You'll be signing your own death if you do. Nik might hate me half the time but he would never let me die."

"That's fine. You can rot in there just the same."

With that, he walk away.
