Despite your rough start with Woozi yesterday, you were still jittery with excitement. Today was a new day and with it was another opportunity to impress Woozi.
You pressed the button for the elevator to head up to the studios. The doors opened and you stepped inside.
"Wait!" Someone called as the doors began to close. A guy with black hair jogged to catch the elevator. Your eyes widened as he got closer. It was Seungcheol, Seventeen's leader. You couldn't believe your luck, running into him on your second day. It still hadn't hit you that you work at Pledis Entertainment and you would probably be running into other artists frequently.
You held the door open for him and tried to stay calm.
He's just a normal person, you reminded yourself.
"Thanks." He grinned. "If I'm late to dance practice again, I think Hoshi might kill me. I don't think we've met before. I'm Seungcheol."
"I'm Y/N, the new producer, Woozi's mentee."
"Oh? I didn't know Woozi was mentoring anyone." Seungcheol pressed the button for his floor. The doors closed and the elevator hummed quietly as it trundled up each floor.
"I just started yesterday."
"Can I give you some advice?"
You nodded eagerly.
"Don't spend all of your days in the studio. Woozi can work long hours and sometimes he forgets what time it is. He works hard and I'm sure you will too. But it's okay to take a break."
The elevator dinged and the doors slid open.
"I will. Thanks."
"Well, if you ever need anything or just wanna say hi, my studio is right next to his." Seungcheol waved before stepping off the elevator.
You knocked twice before entering Woozi's studio. He was sitting at his desk, listening to a song. It was a bright, cheery song that made you want to get up and dance. He was so engrossed in the music that he didn't seem to hear you taking a seat next to him.
"Oh is that for Seventeen's next comeback? Can I help?"
Woozi jumped in his chair. He hit pause on the track. "What the—"
"Is this going to be the title track?"
"What the hell are you doing here?"
"You told me to be here at 8 a.m."
"Oh right."
"So what are we working on? This song or something else? 'Cause if we're working on something else, I have a few ideas I've been toying around with lately and I'd love to get your feedback."
"We are not working on anything. I have too many things to do to babysit you."
"So what am I going to do?"
Woozi rummaged through a filing cabinet next to his desk, pulling out various folders and files. He set down a thick stack of papers on the table in front of you.
"What's this?"
"Paperwork."
"What am I supposed to do with it?"
"Read through it. You said you wanted to be a producer. Well this is just as much a part of being a producer as the actual recording and mixing."
Woozi returned to his desk. As he was putting on headphones, you called out, "Aren't you supposed to, I don't know, mentor me? Coach me through this paperwork?"
