As I stood there waiting for her, worry began to fill me.
*Where is she? What's taking her so long?*
Then I heard the giddy little giggle that always managed to make my heart flutter.
*Aimi? Was she already here?*
I followed the sound of her laughter, my eyes darting around the park as I searched for her.
My eyes lit up when I saw her familiar head of hair, the sunlight making her pink locks shine.
But I froze when I saw another figure standing next to her. My smile quickly wiped away.
*Takumi? Wasn't he overseas?*
He hugged her, placing his hands on her waist as he pressed a kiss to her forehead.
The same way I did.
"Happy birthday, Aimi."
"Thank you, Kumi..."
I was taught not to eavesdrop, but how could someone just stand there while another man had his hands on someone else's girl?
*My girl.*
I dropped the flowers in my hand. My whole world felt like it just shattered when I saw her press a kiss to his lips.
Heartbreak was never a stranger to me. But this... this hurt. I couldn't find the words to describe it.
Anger? Betrayal? Sorrow? I was feeling it all. It was like a thousand daggers piercing my chest.
My heart raced as if it was about to burst out of my chest. I felt like I couldn't breathe.
As the bouquet of flowers lay on the floor, I turned my back and walked away.
I couldn't bring myself to confront her. I couldn't even look at her anymore.
She... cheated on me.

I lay in bed, tears streaming down my face as I tried to sleep.
But every time I closed my eyes, I saw her.
I was angry. I was sad. I was hurt.
The way she smiled when he held her, it kept repeating in my head.
Aimi looked happy with Takumi. Happier than she was with me, even after all I've done for her.
I cried for hours. As soon as I realized it, the sun was already up.
"Seven already...?"
I groaned as I looked at my phone screen, my voice hoarse as my throat itchy.
*I'm late again.*
Flopping back around in my bed, I couldn't get myself to get up from my bed.
Even as I showered, I couldn't keep my mind off her.
Off them.
She looked so happy. It angered me.
I dragged my feet across the street, not bothering to hurry my pace even though I was late.
I stepped through the door without announcing my presence.
I didn't want to be here.
"Late again, are we?"
I looked over my shoulder at Itsuki. It seemed like he was the only one here.
"Hey, you've never been this late before. Something happen?"
He seemed concerned for me, but I was quick to lie to him.
"I'm fine. I just slept late last night."
I muttered, knowing well that I didn't sleep a wink.
Itsuki merely nodded in response.
As I went to the back, putting on my apron and rolling up my sleeves, Itsuki tapped my shoulder again.
"How did it go?"
He asked, a smile on his face as he awaited my response.
I forgot he knew about me and Aimi.
As I opened my mouth to speak, the hanging doorbell jingled, followed by the voice I dreaded to hear.
