The day was ending on a brisk autumn evening while Andy was walking home from work. He loved watching the leaves blow through the breeze, while the sun shone in front of him like a golden path guiding the way back to his little condo in the city. There weren't many people around, and the quiet felt serene with only hushed whispers from couples nearby.
He took this passage home everyday yet, he sensed something different today. He felt a shiver go up his spine and pulled his large grey jacket tighter around his slim waist. He was rounding the corner of the alleyway when he saw a tall man slumped over against a wall. Was he drunk? At this hour?
He made his way over to the man and was immediately in awe of just how handsome this stranger was. The long dark eyelashes that fell over his high cheekbones, and plump pink lips that looked softer than cotton candy.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
The man looked up at him and smiled through brilliantly white teeth that were perfectly aligned."I'm fine." The man replied shifting to an upright position. He looked around for a moment, then looked back at Andy and asked "Is this Parsons street?" His piercing blue eyes were a stark contrast to his black hair.
Andy sighed inwardly and shook his head.
"Parsons is a few blocks back that way" he directioned with his head. "You must have passed it on your way here.""Oh." The handsome stranger shut his eyes and winced in pain as his hands came up and grabbed his head. "I think I may be a bit intoxicated" he chuckled.
"That was obvious." Andy retorted in a slightly annoyed tone. He hated when people were drunk in public. They only caused trouble not just for themselves, but everyone around them too.
"Should I call someone for you, Mr. um. What is your name sir?" Andy told himself he was only asking out of mild concern and not his own morbid curiosity.
"The name is." He paused for a moment and Andy swore he could see the gears spinning in his brain. "I don't remember." He laughed hard enough to make him almost stumble over.
"And I don't need anyone to take care of me. I'm a grown man."
"A grown man who is wasted at seven in the evening and cant even find his way home." Andy was miffed at this point, but couldn't bring himself to just leave the man in the street alone in this state.
Though the man was beginning to get on his nerves, there was something about him that Andy was drawn to. It wasn't just his pretty face, but something about his demeanor. Even while intoxicated, he seemed to exude a sort of elegance that was difficult to ignore.
He was wearing navy blue trousers with a matching blazer, waistcoat and a white button down. It was finished with a grey checkered tie and a pair of black penny loafers. The silver cufflinks on his wrist looked like they cost more than Andy's entire outfit. His suit was clearly tailored and fit him very well.
"Are you angry with me?" The man sounded genuinely hurt by Andy's words.
He suddenly wrapped his arms around Andy's neck and pulled him in for a hug. That's when Andy realized their height difference. The top of his head only reached the crook of the man's neck and Andy really liked that. The man was very warm, and he felt comfortable enveloped in his arms. The smell of lavender hit Andy's nostrils and it was almost intoxicating.
But Andy knew he couldn't stay like this. He reached up and pushed the man off of him, perhaps a bit to forcefully, as he fell to the ground with a thud.
Panicking, Andy rushed to kneel beside him and check to make sure his head was alright. "Are you okay? I'm sorry for pushing you, but that was inappropriate for you to hug me that way."
The man just laughed again. In fact he kept laughing until he eventually fell asleep. Andy was now in a predicament. He knew he wasn't responsible for a grown man that chose to drink so much he passed out, yet he felt obligated to take care of this man since he already had the conversation with him and no one else seemed to be around.
With a heavy sigh he pulled out his phone from his black messenger bag and dialed waiting for someone to pick up.
