Evangeline Macher was always close with Billy Loomis due to her brother Stu being Billy's best friend. Billy spent a lot of time at the Macher's home since Evangeline and Stu's parents were never home.
Stu loved this because he threw parties regularly but Evangeline missed her parents all the time, sure her parents were home sometimes but only once a month if even.
Billy got closer and closer with Evangeline as they progressed through high school. And eventually Billy became extremely protective of Evangeline, he was almost as protective as Stu.
Billy and Evangeline had one thing in common though, they both lacked parents to look out for them. Billy had his father but Evangeline had barely anybody around except Stu to care and look out for her which only added to Billy's protectiveness.
So when Billy and Sidney break up Billy can get even closer to Evangeline, never leaving her side while Sidney was heartbroken.
And that's just what Billy wanted, even when Billy wants to kill for her Stu sticks with his best friend because Stu would do anything for Billy and Billy would do absolutely anything for Evangeline.
