Shingeki no Kyojin

Prologue

Twelve-year-old Kumi Braun didn't know her life would change when Marley sent her, Reiner, Annie, Bertolt, and Marcel to the Island of Paradis. As they camped at their small campsite Kumi looked at her twin brother Reiner. "I don't understand why they let me come with y'all if I don't have a Titan..." Reiner chuckles. "Because it's incase if things go wrong you can charm the devils into letting us go." "Yeah yeah. Like them devils would-" The twelve year old girl stopped speaking upon hearing something. "What the-" Marcel pushed Kumi out of the way as a Titan appeared running at them. "MARCEL!" She screamed in shock and Reiner picked her up and took off running. Kumi was in a state of shock as the boy she adored and was her best-friend was eaten in front of her. Reiner ran and carried his sister, finally getting to a tree. Reiner set her down panting. "Marcel saved you Kumi-" Kumi looked at him, her face set in a cold emotionless façade. "You don't think I know that? You don't think I didn't just get saved and that I didn't just get saved and that I didn't just see my best friend die in front of me?"
Reiner sighed and went to pull his sister in for a hug but she scoffed and pushed him away. "I don't need pity. I'm fine without your comfort, Reiner."
Reiner sighed and knew why his twin was acting this way. "Look I know you loved him-" Kumi turned and looked at him. "You know nothing, Reiner." She looked up at hearing her friends Annie and Bertolt's footsteps. "Never would have thought that you would beat me in a footrace. But then again you were running to save your sister. You know what Marely would think of that right?" Reiner pulls Kumi closer to him. "They wouldn't- I wouldn't let them!" Kumi just stands there, her face filled with annoyance and irritation. "Can we not argue when there may be more Titans around? It's quite ridiculous how y'all are Titan Shifters and warriors but still argue over petty little things."
Annie speaks up. "You wouldn't know what it's like to have a Titan." "And where are you going with that?" "I'm saying you're a failure to Marely. You don't serve a purpose other than having good looks used to trick people." Kumi just chuckles. "Do I smell jealousy? Sorry that you aren't born with good looks." Annie glares at Kumi and Kumi just smirks. "Aww did I touch a nerve? Didn't know you were so self conscious about being pretty~" Kumi said in a mocking tone making Annie swing at her. Kumi caught her fist, twisted her arm, and kicked the backs of her knees making Annie fall. "Kumi you forget where you stand!" "You forget your place Annie. You are in my shadow act like it. It's no wonder every plan has failed under your guidance. You are a walking second place medal." Annie looks at Kumi then back at the ground muttering a half-hearted apology. Kumi let Annie go scoffing. "Marcel shouldn't have saved you." Annie said with venom. "You're right he shouldn't have." Kumi said without hesitation .
Bertolt looks at them. "We can go back and recover the Jaw Titan! The person is probably human again and we can catch them!" Kumi spoke up. "You three will complete the mission I'll go to recover Jaws." Kumi then runs off leaving the three of them behind. Kumi then stumbled upon the person she thought was rather odd. The dark hair and freckles just gave the girl a exotic look. Reminds Kumi of the story about the girl who claimed to be Ymir. Kumi scoffs and then picks the girl up. "Silly girl thinks she can just handle a Titan easily." As Kumi was starting to head back the girl woke up and fought back causing a lot of noise. "ACK!" The girl hit Kumi in her back right along her spine and Kumi dropped the girl. "What the-" The girl punched Kumi in the face and Kumi fell to the ground. Kumi looked up and glared at the girl wiping her bloody nose. "Damn never had someone get a hit like that on me before. Where's Reiner and 'em when you need 'em..." As Kumi got up the girl glared at Kumi. "What's the matter, cat got your tongue?" The girl spoke in a hoarse voice. "Where am I and who are you?"
Kumi sighed and grudgingly answered the girl. "You're somewhere near Paradis. And I'm Kumi." "Last name?" "Not relevant right now. But who are you?" The girl scoffs. "Now why-" Kumi pulled out a knife and held it to the back of the girl's nape. "Because your life depends on it and besides I told you my name." The girl looked at the blade and then to Kumi. "I'm Ymir." Kumi realized this was the girl who was sent to 'Heaven' for claiming to be Ymir. "You're her. The one who was sent to heaven for saying you were Ymir." Ymir nods. "I was only playing the role I was given." Kumi sighs. "I know there was no way that you could have been her besides you were a child." Ymir nods. "Now come on let's get back to the-" Kumi stops hearing loud footsteps. "You gotta be fucking kidding me." Kumi picks Ymir up and takes off running. "There's no way you can outrun them!" "I know that! But do you have any other ideas?! Because I'll be glad to hear them!"
Ymir nods "I can shift! And carry you away!" Kumi goes silent. "You better not betray me later on!" Kumi sets Ymir down then takes off running so she doesn't get burned. Ymir bites her hand and transforms into the Jaw Titan. "Jaws... Marcel I-..." Kumi muttered under her breath. Ymir takes off running and picks Kumi up. By the time they had reached the wall it had been breached already. "Thanks, get out of your Titan form now." Ymir doesn't budge and so Kumi takes the knife and sliced the nape open. Kumi yanked Ymir out and carried her. "Damn Ymir... Making me carry you..." She walked along the streets following some kids that kind of reminded Kumi of her, Reiner, Annie, Bertolt, and Marcel... As Kumi finally made it to the safe house where the kids she followed were, she passed out...
