Day 27/6
Time: 9: 20 am

Witnessing the true form of idiocy for the first time was proudly presented by two fully grown adult men fighting each other with beetles that were pulled out from god knows which rusty old dumpster. People even came and gathered around to watch the two little bugs placed upon an old cardboard box, struggle to topple their opponent; heck they were even betting. Alas, Childe seemed to love the thrill all the same, screaming at the bug with all his lung capacity, and paying no mind to the police officers eyeing him suspiciously. I stood by his side and looked across the crowd, only to spot a pair of bunny ears poking through the crowd. Glancing down at Childe who was hunched before the box along with Itto for a second, I looked back at the perky ears inching closer in my direction. Kaeya got spit out of the crowd, black headband now slightly titled and outfit disheveled, not to mention how he looked a bit distressed. "Boss . . . " He patted, hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath," we have a situation."

His eyes darted from me to Childe, whose excitement seemed to have toned down instantly upon catching Kaeya's gaze. " AND YOU LOST SUCKER!" Itto jumped up onto his two feet, fist in the air and his fellow thugs cheering him on. "Time to pay up! You lost fair and square, apologize to my friend here."

The himbo pointed back at the guy who had Thoma's wallet clutched tightly in his right hand, but Childe only tilted his head to the side with his expression now bored. " One more round, this is a tryout," he reasoned with a smile threatening to tug at the corner of his lips, but the gang was having none of that and were eyeing us slowly, some even cracking their knuckles. " Okie that's enough for today," one of the police officers who were standing at the sidelines finally intervened and stepped between Itto and Childe, " if you fight now I'll have no choice but to arrest you. "

Something about the way he walked or the way he was looking at Childe made my stomach crunch and a few sirens rang in my head. " Childe let's just g-" but the ginger did not let me finish and pet my head. " I'll be fine don't worry little miss ~ "

My face probably turned all different shades of red, but Childe did not mind it much and turned back to the police officer. " Long time is see Wriothesley~" The officer ignored his getting and instead adjusted the white bandages wrapped around his hands.

" I'd like you to explain to me what going on here," his voice was thick, but before I could even comprehend the strange tension between them, Kaeya was already pulling me back into the crowd, with me completely losing sight of him, except for his hand, which had been adorned with golden rings, excluding his ring finger. I got pulled further, accidentally stepping on other people's feet, crashing against my shoulders, and excusing myself with unacknowledged words of "sorry " and "excuse me".

By the time we were back at the restaurant, the entrance was hoarded by a few reporters, and a Cadillac Beast was parked perfectly in place. However, the reporters seemed to focus on something else or rather someone else. Uneasiness dwelled up in my gut, feet planted themselves to the ground. . . And kaeya's hand slipped out of mine. I knew who had finally decided to come. Kaeya turned back to me, slowing down, before looking at the crowded entrance in distress. " Stay Calm, he needs to save face in front of the public, " he tried reassuring me while clasping my hands and pulling me forward, turning his back to me.

Could I trust those words? That "that" person would not cross the line? More questions yanked at the back of my mind, and with each step I took down the stairs, the air seemed to thicken, and all eyes looked at me with predatory hunger. Flashing lights swallowed my vision, and blurred voices screamed into my ears. I pushed ahead however whenever I felt Kaeya's grasp even slightly slip, and at some point, I had planted myself next to him because I knew damn well I would have gone into a straight-up panic attack if he didn't stay next to me.

With one last step, the world became still in my head. All that separated me from the inside were the thick, dark, wooden doors of the restaurant. This time, I let my hand leave kaeya's, and instead grip at the cold golden handles. . . And pushed.
