Violet's pov
-Hello? I'm home from school.
Violet buzzed herself into her family's penthouse, and stepped out of the elevator and into her family home a couple minutes later. She slipped off her chunky black doc martens and placed her worn brown satchel on the velvety couch which stood in front of the tv. The grandfather clock that her family had inherited from her great grandmother ticked, the soft clicking sound it made echoing through the many rooms of the cavernous home.
She noticed a rather tired looking Monkey sitting next to the stairwell, and wondered why no one had walked him, because although he seemed tired, he also appeared slightly restless.
A/N : only real GG fans know about Monkey, but if u don't he's Chuck's dog that's given to him by Dan in maybe season 5???
She heard the intense typing noises she was accustomed to, and headed towards her mother's study. She entered the room after knocking and noticed her mom practically bent over her desk, hammering out around 10 words per second on her laptop.
-Is now a bad time?
-No, no, sit, I've nearly finished this spring catalog plan.
The clattering suddenly stopped, and she slid her swivel chair towards her.
-So. How was your day?
-Um, well I had lunch with Ava and got a french practice exam back. Do you want to see?
-Of course.
Violet pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to the elegant beauty that was her mother.
-Well done!
She beamed at her, pointing to the 85% that was scribbled on the paper in red ink.
- So, did it rain after all?
-No, Mom, it didn't.
She rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help but smile. She had a bond with her mother that she wouldn't trade for anything.
-Um, I saw something today.
-What do you mean?
-Well, you know you and dad have an open relationship?
At the mentioning of Violet's father, she smiled.
-Yes?
-You never told me if it was strictly straight?
-Oh. That.
She chuckled, but suddenly noticed Violet's expression.
-Oh. He never told you? God, that man will be the death of me. It's not for me to say, you must know that darling.
She nodded. From her reaction, she gathered that it was something she had known for a while. Suddenly, she felt her knuckles slowly curl up into tight fists.
