Mia waved away the fan who asked for a picture. She walked to the garage as she gripped the sticker in her hand. She skipped towards the McLaren garage where her best friend was.
She knew her way around the paddock already, waving to some people as she rushed to where Lando was. Greeting the mechanics and engineers, she finally reached him.
She stood there, waiting patiently. She was full of energy, getting just the right amount of sleep and was not rushed that morning. She was rocking on the balls of her feet as she glanced around.
Her eyes found Oscar, she grinned and waved, "Oscar!" she said. Her voice catching the attention of both drivers. The Australian excused himself from Ken, his PR manager.
"Always in time Ate Mia." He said with a chuckle. She hummed and nodded proudly, "As always. How are you? How is Liv?" she asked quietly.
Oscar's smile faltered a bit but composed himself, "She's okay I guess." The girl patted his shoulder sympathetically, "Give her my how are you alright? And invite her to my next show!" she said happily.
The Australian driver chuckled and nodded, he noticed Lando finally escaping Jon. The Brit was walking to them, "I will." He said as he motioned to the driver behind her. Turning, Mia's smile grew wider, "Lan lan!" she said.
The younger driver chuckled as the singer hugged his teammate. He excused himself and the two waved him away. Lando pulled her to his area of the garage, his car being checked out by his mechanics and engineer. He turned to her, in his hands was his helmet.
Mia giggled and placed her hands on her waist, "How do you know I have one this race?" she asked. He sent her an amused look, a smirk appearing on his lips. "When did you ever not have one?" he asked.
She shrugged, "This might be the first time." She said. Lando's smirk faltered, "What?" he asked. Mia huffed and crossed her arms, feeling guilty with the joke.
"Hey. I'm just kidding." She said placed her hands on his cheeks, "I'm sorry." She said with a pout. He giggled and pulled away, "I know."
Mia grabbed the sticker inside her pocket, raising it, she showed Lando. "It's Calcifer!" she said excitedly. He smiled, his best friend had started to watch Studio Ghibli, her new fixation.
She handed it to her and he smiled, "Where do you want him?" he asked. She hummed, "Anywhere that's close to you." She said. Lando knew what that meant, taking the paper backing off the sticker, she was offering the helmet and he placed it just under the quadrant logo. He looked up at her and grinned, "There."
The singer giggled, "Okay, now that Calcifer is there. He'll keep you safe!" she said. Lando looked at her, a serious expression on his face.
She furrowed her eyebrows, "What-" "You'll watch me right?" Mia hummed and nodded, "You know I always do."
"10 minutes Lando." They heard Jon say. The singer grinned and wrapped her arms around him, "You'll do amazing Lanlan." She whispered.
He chuckled and wrapped his around her waist, "If I do, will you write about me now?" he asked. Mia's heart dropped and pulled away a bit. A thin lipped smile on her lips, "Be safe Lando."
Lando frowned a bit but he knew he won't be able to persuade her but he saw that Jon was motioning for him. He sighed but nodded, "I always am."
