It's been weird lately. Hao and I haven't spoken in a while. He hasn't even been at school for at least two weeks now. He's blocked my number so I can't even text him. Maybe one of his friends knows what's happening?
"Ricky can I talk to you for a second?" Ricky nodded in reply. "Have you heard from Hao? I can't get a hold of him at all for the past two weeks."
"No. I don't to hear that name ever again. Sorry Hanbin I know you care for him a lot but I care about him more. A best friend should always keep their promise. And don't worry he's most definitely alive, I saw him at a cafe, but he looked at me like I was invisible. I'm his god dam best friend!"
"Oh shit..sorry to hear that Ricky. But that doesn't sound like Hao at all."
"Yeah..I know right. That bitch.."
"Do you know where he lives? You live next door right?"
"Heh..yeah. I do. But you know what's funny about that? He hasn't been home for months. Months Hanbin. Months. He never told me he left. He always used to just tell me when I asked 'I was studying' or some shit like that."
Hasn't been home in months? "That doesn't make sense."
"Yeah no shit. Ask his parents if you want. He cut them off too."
"Shen Ricky? Sung Hanbin? Can you come into my office for a moment please?" The principal asked us.
"Yeah for sure." I replied.
As we both walk into the office sitting there in the two chairs are Hao's parents..I believe. Taerae is also there and... "Matthew, Gyuvin, Yujin? What's going on?"
"I called you guys in here because you are all mostly seen around hanging with Zhang Hao." The principal began to say. "Hao's attendance has been unusual for him these passed two weeks and we thought you guys, any of you guys would know where he is?" He said.
"Ricky?" Hao's mother said. "Where's my son?" The lady started speaking in her native language Chinese.
Ricky stayed quiet for a second. "...I don't know." He replied in Chinese.
All of us besides Hao's dad are having a bad time understanding their conversation that's all done in their native language.
"Ricky. Your his best friend. Shouldn't you know where he is?!" Ricky stayed quiet.
"SHEN RICKY!" She yelled in tears making Ricky's eyes tear up.
"Honey.." Hao's dad tried calming his wife but she ignored him.
Ricky looked at Hao's mother. "Auntie..Hao cut me off too he cut ALL of us off. I have no clue where he is or why he did this." He wiped his face. "I saw him at a cafe and tried to speak to him but he completely ignored me like I'm the invisible man or something."
Hao's mom's face dropped. She couldn't speak through her tears gushing down her red and puffy face. She didn't say a word but just grasped Ricky into a tight and long hug.
She looked at him once she let go. "Ricky..take care of yourself alright? I'll see you again soon hon." She said before patting him in the shoulder, bowing to everyone and walking out of the office without another word. Her husband doing the same but before leaving he hugged Ricky and went on his way.
The office stayed in silence for a bit. Cold faces in everyone. No expression. Just tears down the face.
