Mia got out of the kart and took off the helmet, as per request of the 10 year old they accompanied for the day, she drove around the track. Supposedly, it was only Lando and Eli but Mia can never say no to the little boy.
As the years passed, Eli was not a baby anymore, meaning he had started to form his likes and dislikes. This meant those likes of his turned into hobbies which he focused on. Meaning, less time to spend with his countless aunts and uncles.
But Lando and Mia knew when to corner the boy. They found his karting schedule and bargained with his parents to pick him up there whenever they were free.
And because it was summer break for Lando and Mia was on a recording break from tour, they had the chance to pick up the young boy.
The moment he caught sight of his beloved singer aunt and race driver uncle, he requested for Lando to drive with him. His trainer agreed, happily knowing fully well that the driver would teach Eli the ropes.
It started out as usual, Mia on the sides, watching them. But them Eli requested for her to drive. And with both Lando's and Eli's puppy eyes, she agreed.
After the session and the two drivers changing into normal clothes, they sat in Lando's car. They were driving back to the couple's flat in Monaco.
"So, what do you want for dinner rascal?" Mia asked as Lando drove out of the garage of the karting place. Eli hummed as he thought of what he wanted.
He knew he had to be polite (his mother and father reminding him ever since he could comprehend). He knew what he wanted and he knew his aunt would agree but he was glancing at Lando.
It was unusual for the boy to take this long deciding so Mia glanced at him through the mirror. "Eli?" she asked. Mia suddenly noticed how he was glancing at his Uncle Lando.
She knew already, she smirked, "Don't be shy rascal, your uncle would agree with whatever you want. Right Lan?" she asked. Lando nodded proudly, "Of course! It's been months since we hung out rascal. What do you want?" the driver asked glancing at the boy but then turning his attention back to the road.
Mia and Eli shared eye contact and she nodded. The boy took in a breath, "Sushi please." Lando gulped, "Sushi?"
Eli nodded, "But its okay if we get something else. Dad told me to be polite." Mia chuckled and turned to him, "You are polite Eli. You said please. And we're getting sushi."
The Brit sighed but nodded, "You're Auntie Mia is right. Sushi it is." The singer and the boy cheered making Lando smile despite the idea of being near fish.
"Anyway, any news you heard around Eli?" Lando asked. Mia rolled her eyes and hit his arm, "I thought we said we won't use Eli for gossip anymore?"
Lando shrugged, "It's summer break Mimi, there's bound to be news we haven't heard."
Eli thought about it, his lips pursed until he remembered something he heard his parents talked about. "I do." He said. Lando smirked, "Go on tell it." He said as he sent Mia a smug look.
The singer stuck her tongue out and Lando laughed. But as the two were distracted, they did not expect Eli to blurt out the words he said next.
"Uncle Charles is pregnant."
Lando stepped on the breaks, luckily they were in a more private road where no one really passed through. "What?!" Lando asked and the two turned to the boy.
Eli smiled at them and nodded, "Yeah! Mum and Dad were talking about it."
The two adults shared a look, "Okay I think that's enough gossip for today." Mia said as she motioned Lando to continue driving when she noticed some cars behind them.
The Brit started to drive again and Eli decided to speak again, "What's the big deal? There will be a new baby. Isn't that what you guys want?"
The boy was right. As Eli grew up and started to become more independent, it seemed as though the friends longed to have another baby to take care of but all were too career focused to actually have one.
Mia hummed and nodded, "It's not a big deal." Eli huffed and crossed his arms, "Seeing Uncle Lando's reaction. It is a big deal."
Lando scoffed and glanced at him, "It's not a big deal for me. For you maybe."
"What does that mean?"
"It means you won't be the baby anymore."
Eli's face dropped, "No. No, I will be. Don't say that." Mia chuckled and turned to look at him, "Don't worry Eli, you will always be our first baby."
The boy grinned and nodded, "I hope Uncle Charles and Auntie Thals will have a girl."
"Why?"
"So I can be protective of them."The couple shared a proud and happy look. Despite being a surprise, they had to admit, Eli's parents did a great job in raising him. And they didn't know it, but they were also a part of why he grew up that way.
But as of the moment, they didn't want to think about it. They knew their friends will tell them, right now, they will enjoy the time they had with each other and with Eli.
