Earidin pov
"So, how soon can we have little ones wing back?" I looked to the mage.
"As soon as she is ready." He was still examining the staff he held, as it turns out, the golden staff is not he one we were looking for, the one I grabbed was a sort of switch to release it from its hold. It now sits in my bag it's rare and will bring a good price in town.
The little one came walking from the bushes, she was cleaning up in the creek. "Ok, I'm ready." She looked to the mage awaiting directions.
"This requires the blood of someone you trust little fairy, do you trust this man here?" He gestured towards me.
"Of course I do, with my life." She said it as though it was completely obvious.
"Then sit in his hand, and we will begin." I dropped my hand and she sat down, when I turned to the mage he was already glowing with energy.
Felida pov
I was barely able to sit in my excitement, I was about to get my wing back. The mage pulled energy from the air, like wraith about to devour its prey, the thought made me shiver. "This doesn't feel right." I looked up to my ranger.
"I'm sure it will be fine little one, just start thinking about what you'll do with two wings." He moved his eyes back to the mage.
"Tell him to stop, please! This isn't right!" I felt my energy drain and fell into his hand, he drew his sword, then in only a few seconds, I was flying through the air, my vision blackened, my ranger screamed in pain and surprise then I hit the cold hard ground and the darkness took me.
Earidin pov
I woke, feeling as though I had just been ran over by a wagon. "Little one! Where are you?" I yelled out.
"I'm here......" I looked over to see a human sized felida, she looked stunned, worried, and happy all at once.
" Little one......your taller......."
"Er, heh, maybe I should just show you. Umm, first of all, you have wings." I looked behind me, and was startled to see a almost clear, blue tinted wing flared out from the side of my armour.
" The hell? What....?" I looked to the little one, behind her I saw the cave we had run out of. It was so much larger, like looking at the mountain itself from a distance but instewad it was a gaping hole.
"Ranger, you must calm down. We have to get the plates off your back or your wings will break." I barely heard her, as though she was still back in that cave yelling out to me. But I did hear her, I stopped and began yanking at the straps holding on my breastplate, it finally came off, the feeling of being run over went away.
"Where is the mage?"
"I don't know, I woke just before you and he was gone.
"hah! Of course he is. Answers always have to be an adventure."
