Blood.
There was blood and it was everywhere. It covered everything. Soaking through Raven's shorts and into the rug. It was covering her, consuming her. But it was coming out of her. Pouring from her, she couldn't stop it.
Every part of her ached from the beating. Her stomach throbbed, as did her shoulders and arms. He had hit her too hard this time.
It was hurting like she had never experienced before. Pulsing through her veins. She took in shaky breaths, clinging onto the chair next to her.
Oh this wouldn't do. There was such a mess.
But Raven was too weak to clean it up.He would be mad, there was blood everywhere. He didn't like messes, especially the ones Raven made. She had to clean it up.
But there wasn't time. The blood was spreading, spreading over the hardwood floors until it touched all four walls. It poured out of Raven and splashed in the dark puddle under her. The levels of blood rose.
Raven splashed away and tried the door.
It was locked.
Of course it was locked.
It was always locked, Raven wasn't allowed to walk around free. She wasn't supposed to leave her room. She didn't know why she tried to open the door anyway, it was never open.
Always locked.
Raven was trapped there with the puddle of blood. The puddle crept up her legs, staining her ankles.
Raven whimpered and let it cover her, soaking through her clothes and skin. It covered her head and when she opened her eyes it was all red. She could barely move in the thick liquid.
Then the loud screeching noise of a baby's crying echoed in the water.
Raven tried to cover her ears.
'No! I'm sorry baby! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!'........
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry-"
"Woah! H-hey Raven!"
Midoriya said, worry written across his features. He gently touched Raven's arm and tried to wake her up.Raven stirred but kept her eyes closed tight.
"I'm sorry."
She whispered desperately, Izuku 's heart broke at the desperate whimpers that came from his friend."Raven please... please wake up."
He whispered, Raven's eyes slowly opened and then blinked rapidly."O-oh! Oh... hello Izuku! Did I wake you?"
She asked sitting up and looking down at him curiously."Well you... Are you alright? It sounded like you were having a nightmare."
He said nervously, sitting up beside her.She tilted her head, as if in thought.
"I did? I don't really remember it."
She said bashfully.
"I'm sorry if I woke you up though.""No it's... it's fine..."
Izuku mumbled. The scariest thing was... he didn't know if she was lying to spare his worries or not. He genuinely couldn't tell. Raven seemed to be fairly good at acting."Alright! What time is it?"
Raven asked, looking at his clock and rubbing her eyes."It's Seven..."
Midoriya mumbled.
"I guess I should get up now.""Why? It's still early?"
Raven asked as the boy left her alone in the bed."Yeah well... I'm on a workout schedule... I need to go on a run and exercise."
He said with a small smile.
"I'll just grab something to change into, then you can go back to bed if you would like.""Oh... alright Izuku..."
She said, sinking back into the bed.
"Have fun."Every part of Izuku wanted to say "fuck it" and stay with Raven. He was tired and she was so... cute. But he couldn't skip out on this, not if he wanted to be a hero one day.
'To protect her.'
He thought with a smile.'It's well worth it.'
