The Boy Across The Street

Chapter one
Rydel's POV
Right now I am sitting in my room like always, and since it's the first day of Christmas break I'm taking easy. By taking it easy I mean sitting in my bed watching supernatural wrapped in my favorite blanket wearing boy shorts and an oversized t-shirt eating junk food. I was trying to stuff more gummy worms in my mouth and my phone started ringing.

Of course I couldn't reach far enough to grab my phone so I had to get out of the bed stupid charging cord why can't you be longer.

"Hello" I snap into the phone "this better be important because I had to get out of the bed on a Saturday "oh Rydel I really messed up, oh I messed up so bad" "kay what's wrong are you okay? Did you fix things between you and Dean?" Kaiyleana one of my best friends got in a fight with her boyfriend Dean Williams.

In all honesty I don't see what she did wrong other than getting ban from going to any more baseball games for the rest of the semester. She was just trying to protect her boyfriend from Lauren fisher the most popular girl at our school kept taking about how good Deans butt looked in his baseball pants. But then she had to go and say how anything made him look good and it set kay off. Yeah I know she's got some anger issues but only when it comes to her friends and family.

I would feel sorry for Lauren but the whole thing was pretty funny kay turned around a punched her right in the nose and with the crack I heard I'm positive it's broken. Lauren was sitting at the top of the bleachers so when she got hit she fell off the back of them and broke her wrist. So kay got kicked out of the game and is not allowed to come back to a game until next year. I just don't understand why Dean got so mad she was just being a good girlfriend.

They went out last night to talk about it and she said she would call and tell me what happened. "No, I didn't fix it I just made it worse Ry what am I going to do I can't lose him I just can't" she cried into the phone. I didn't really know what to say to her, her and dean never fought they were the golden couple at our school and I don't really have that much dating experience. I know I'm 17 I should have a lot of guys under my belt by now but im just waiting for the right guy to come along.

I do read though and from the amount of romance novels I know a thing or two. "kay, calm down just tell me what happened" I say as calmly as I can but I'm dying to know what happened for her to be acting this way "well" she sighed taking a deep breath

"we were eating dinner and having a good time just talking and laughing like we always do, then he just had to bring up Lauren he told me that I shouldn't have done that and I should have controlled my anger better but what did he expect me to do just sit there and let her talk about hi that way I don't think so" as she said that I laughed and she giggled a little "I mean come on Ry he broke a guy's shoulder one time because he asked for my number and he's the one yelling at me, so anyways I told him I was just standing up for him and he said he didn't need me to stand up for him and I told him if he didn't need me then we should breakup and that he can take care of himself like a big boy" she was crying now and I was on the verge of tears.

I knew she didn't mean that because never in a million years would she even consider the possibility of breaking up with dean "what am I going to do Rydel?" After a long sigh I said "well you're obviously not sorry for punching Lauren so don't tell him that because then you would be lying but tell him you didn't really mean what you said about you two breaking up that you just got mad about the way he reacted to the situation and how you know he would do the same thing for you if someone was talking about you that way" or at least I think that's what she should do I mean hey it always works in the books so why not try right?. "thanks Ry you're the best" "anytime babe" I say with a grin spreading across my face I'm glad that our conversations can go from being so heartfelt to so relaxed in seconds

"oh yeah are you coming to Q's party tomorrow?" Q is one of mine and kay's friends her name is actually Asia but she hates that name so we call her by her middle name which is Quinn then we shortened it to Q and the name just stuck.

"I don't know, you know I don't really like parties" "oh lighten up grandma it will be fun I promise" I can hear the grin on her face as she says this. It's not that I don't know people and don't like talking because trust me I do, I'm just not really one for parties. "Please please please, come please, it will be fun and our friends will be there come on Ry" she says in a hopeful voice

"alright, fine I will come but don't think that I'm wearing a dress" "yay, and I know you hate dresses what kind of friend would I be if I didn't know that, and I will be at your house at five the party starts at seven" "okay see you tomorrow" "you know it, bye love you" "bye love you to boo" now time to get back to watching supernatural and eating.

Twelve that night/morning
Though out the day I have done a lot, I've watched two seasons of supernatural and ate three bags of popcorn and a one pound bag of gummy worms I don't know how I'm not fat. Now I have to get some sleep to have energy for that dreadful party.

🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉
A/N
This was actually really fun to write unlike my last book. Hopefully this book will be better because my last book was terrible.
I've never wrote an authors note so I don't really know what to say.
Soooooo bye👋
