Khom was used to everything, except emotions...
During his time working for Kamol and with him, emotions came into play from time to time, but never to the point where something drastic would happen. Kamol had wanted someone and was a bit picky about it.
but then Khom saw some of the marks on their skin when he was tasked with accompanying them out of Kamol's quarters.
That was until two things happened, or rather, two people
The arrival of Baiboon, followed closely by the arrival of Kim...
and then everything changed, Kim was a force, despite his soft demeanor and the way he defied Kamol, and challenged him in everything.
Khom had wondered why Kim wasn't like those pretty boys, why he challenged Kamol so much, Why he intrigued him so much...
The answer was evident, Kim was more - way more - than what met the eye.
Had it been just that, Khom would have called it a win, his boss had found a suitable partner, and was deeply and insanely in love, but it wasn't just that...Khom was too intrigued by Baiboon, the boy who came out from nowhere and was way too innocent for his own good,
Baiboon whom he had to tell that Kim was in the hospital in critical condition, He had to watch as the boy's lips quivered and his eyes filled with tears, before crumbling into Khom's arms.
Khom was used to bullets but those tears hurt more than that.
He comforted the boy with the fact that Kim was going to be ok, that Kamol was going to do everything in his power to save him, and provide the best medical care money could buy, his head straying momentarily about what it must have felt like for Kamol to watch Kim bleed out in his arms.
Emotions had never been his best suit...
-----
Kamol didn't know when night bled into day again, but the sun was shining when he went outside to see Ivan again.
"I heard he is out of the operation hall..."
Kamol nodded, Kim might be out but he was still very much in a very critical condition, and for all he cared about, he was not safe till he could open his eyes and talk to him, even if it was only to tell him that he hated him.
"He is still in critical condition... Visits are not allowed, that's why I told you to meet outside..."
Ivan nodded, Kamol could see from the corner of his eyes that Danil was hiding behind one of the furthest walls.
"Danil is cleared, he had a few bruised ribs but he doesn't want to stay in the hospital and make you the more uncomfortable with his presence..."
"I Don't really care where he stays as long as he is far away from Kim... one time was enough..."
Ivan nodded.
"I am not leaving till we had our talk, and I see your mind is still clouded with worry... Come find me when you think you want an answer..."
"I do want that answer Ivan... preferably now..."
Ivan raised a single eyebrow at him.
"No matter whether Kim makes it or not?"
"It wouldn't matter, at least not to me..."
Ivan could understand the underlying meaning, life was not going to go on for Kamol if Kim didn't make it.
"Very well, then let me make my arrangements and get back to you in a few days, I will come to find you once I am sure I have an answer for you..."
"So be it... but Ivan?"
