Oakland, California

"Nigga, wake up..."

After hearing his twin sister's voice, a seventeen year old dude named Darren Wilson wakes up from his slumber.  Wiping the drool from the side of his lip, he noticed they were in his father's driveway.

"We're here."  Jackie, Darren's twin sister told him.

"I see that already, Jackie."

"Look, don't you be getting smart with me."  Jackie told him with an attitude.  "I'll knock your teeth clean down your throat."

"And I'd like to see you try."  Darren dared her.

The twins father, Rico, who was sitting in the driver's seat of the car, lit a cigarette.  "Ayy....Y'all stop that mess back there."  He popped the trunk.  "Now y'all go get y'alls suitcases, so we can go in the house.  Shit, it's hot as dragon breath out here."

The twins open their respective car doors, and get out.  As they were removing their luggage from the open trunk, a cute dark skinned dude riding a bike rode by.  His tank top was hanging around his neck, which revealed a nice set of abs, and Darren couldn't help but stare a little.  That is until Jackie hit his arm.

"Boy...what are you just standing there for?"  Jackie said.  "Get your suitcase, dummy."

Darren did what he was told, feeling bad for being attracted to that dark skinned dude.  For years he'd been attracted to other dudes.  And these feelings were only getting stronger for him.

Moments later, they walk into Rico's house.  Jackie noticed something strange.

"Wait a minute, Daddy."  Jackie said.  "Something looks strange in here.  The house don't look the same."

"Well that's because I let Miss Loretta spruce things up in here."  Rico told them.  "Y'all remember Miss Loretta, don't you?"

"Of course we do, Daddy."  Darren told him.  "Last year around this time, you were still courting her to be your old lady."

"Well I'll have you both know that me and Miss Loretta done made things more exclusive now."  Rico said.  "As you young folks say nowadays, she's my old lady."

"Well if Miss Loretta done spruced things up around here," Jackie said, turning her nose up at the new house decorations, "she sure has tacky taste."

"For real, Jackie?"  Darren didn't like the way she was talking.  "Why, I bet Miss Loretta got more taste in her pinky finger than you got in your whole body."

"Nigga, please.  In what world?"  Jackie twisted her lips with attitude.

"The real world."

"Look, you two."  Rico interrupted them.  "Miss Loretta's my girl now.  So I would appreciate it if you two would keep your little comments to yourself."

"Really, I ain't got no kind of problem with Miss Loretta."  Darren said.  "That would be Jackie."

"Only because she ain't Mama."  Jackie said.  "Daddy, when you and Mama divorced, and you moved down here to California, I didn't appreciate that one bit."

"And I understand that."  Rico said.  "But you kids join me down here every summer.  And no matter what went down between me and your mama, I always made sure you two were taken care of over in Indiana.  I made sure I called y'all two every week.  Hell, I even sent money every month."

"We get it, Daddy.  You were there financially for us.  And you even called sometimes.  But that still don't make up for you moving away from us all because of some stupid job."
