Shattered wings

Another few days passed and a meeting was held. Reylyn was asking for clearance to go on a solo mission. Bella, Benjamin, and Pietro where sitting in on the meeting

"Going into a mission alone. Have you thought this through?" Price asked, looking up from the map and at Reylyn.

"Non of you can go with me. It's a death wish to fight there without wings. Only I have the tech that proves useful in that terrain." Reylyn said, pointing to the spot on the map.

Benjamin spoke up. "But it's far to dangerous! You underestimate our enemies."

"You underestimate my power." Reylyn

Said in a serious voice.

"Reylyn we cannot risk loosing you! And this mission has a high chance of you dieing!! Price said, his voice becoming more of a concerned yell.

"And we can't risk letting them invade us! Il take the fight to them before they take the fight to us." Reylyn shot back.

Price sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"I like your valor, but it worries me sometimes...don't die out there."

"My bullets and wings are for the ensurment of mankind's Safty. Il soar this alone because I must. Il take out victory to the skies." Reylyn said looking price in the eyes before leaving the room.

Bella stays silent "well that went well" Pietro says quietly " Hey price..."Bella says quietly

"Do you want me to tail him?" Bella asks

"No, he's right. Unfortunately no one can go with him because of the terrain." Price said, still looking at the door before looking back at the map.

"You underestimate my assassination training but I agree that he'd be the best for the mission because of the wings also he can do some very good airstrikes" Bella says quietly to price.

"Assassin like abilities wouldn't make a difference Bella, it's impossible to get there on foot. Or anyway for that matter." Price said looking at bella

" I literally just said I agreed with that" Bella says playfully but seriously at the same time "Also I know at least part of why he's wanting to do this alone and trust me he'll be fine we've known each other for... a long time I trust his skill. " Bella says confidently

"I worry about him going alone, the mission is far away and he won't have backup. But I do agree with Bella. He's more than capable." Benjamin said.

"Thank you Benjamin " Bella says blushing and trying to cover her face with her hands before any of the other people in the room can see

"You alright Bella?" Benjamin asks, his British accent ringing through the silent room.

Bella stays quiet covering her completely red face "I-I-Im f-fine..." Bella says flustered "I-I just... uh n-never m-mind." Bella says blushing even more.

Benjamin walked over slowly, crouching down In Front of the smaller soldier, his hand gently touching her cheek and then forehead.

"Your awfully warm mate, you sure you're not running sick?" He asked with concern.

"M-maybe" Bella says face still a bit red "I'm sure I'll be f-fine"

"Are you sure? I could walk you to medical if you want?" Benjamin said, his gaze was soft and he smiled a slight bit however concern was still laced in his voice.

"If that will get you to believe I'm ok then sure let's go" Bella says walking towards the door opening it

Benjamin stood up and followed Bella, walking her to medbay. When they got there he put his hand on her shoulder.

"I've got patrol in five minutes, do let me know how this goes." Benjamin spoke with a smile before waving and walking away.

"Alright I'll do that see you later Ben" Bella says warmly

A few days later while everyone was sitting in commons, there was suddenly commotion outside in the cold night.

"What the fuck was that?" Bella says getting up from her spot between Pietro and Ben as she starts walking towards the door

There was a large cloud of dust that was visible under the florescent lights of the base. Price, Benjamin and Pietro joined Bella at the door. The dust soon cleared and revealed Reylyn, His body was bloody and his wings were beyond repair and broken around him. His hand was extremely damaged from the Wings. Blood was leaking from the boy's body at an alarming rate as Price ran up to him and slid down next to the boy. Ordering a soldier to get the medic as he checked Reylyns pulse. It was steady but weak. Price noticed a bullet wound on Reylynns abdomen and quickly covered it.

Pietro runs and gets the medic as Bella helps stop the bleeding

The small team of medics ran up with a stretcher. Benjamin ran up and helped move the parts of the wings off of Reylyn as Price picked up the boy. As Price was walking over to the stretcher, something hung from Reylyns wrist, appearing from the sleeve. It was a flash drive on a necklace. Price set Reylyn on the stretcher and took the flash drive as the medics rushed Reylyn away. Price took a moment before commanding some soldiers to pick up the debris, and ordering Benjamin, Pietro and Bella to follow him as he started walking to his office.

Pietro and Bella follow Price "what do you think is in the drive sir" Bella asks curious

"Intel from his mission. Reylyn wouldn't hold onto anything else." Kate said as she started walking with them into the office.

"Kate, get this on screen for us please." Price said as he handed Kate the flashdrive. Kate pulled it up on the screen, The flash drive contained enemy plans, base locations, leader information, and other valuable information.
