Keep in mind that the sorting hat works uniquely. It looks into your deep inner soul, on who YOU truly are, which means it can see into your future self. So for instance if you seem a Gryffindor as a kid but will become a Slytherin as a teenager or adult, the sorting hat will put you in Slytherin.
Now the sorting hat does take your opinion into account, but I'm not about to read ever characters mind on where they WANT to go. So for the funs of it lets just pretend you don't get a say in where you go.
