It's all in your head

CHAPTER ONE

It was 1:18 PM. At least, that's what the clock said. You can't trust the clock's here, at Bell Creek High. That's what Maya O' Riley was thinking in 4th hour. She was tired and stressed out from the science test earlier, and from the horrible school lunch, that she didn't even eat, because she refuses to eat anything with meat. As she looked at the clock again, it said 1:22.
"What...?" Maya mumbled under her breath, wondering how the hell time moved so fast.
"Maya. Maya! MAYA!"
Olive jumped quietly, and looked back to the front of the classroom, looking at her math teacher, Mr. Anderson.
"Yes sir..?" Maya replied, embarrassed.
"We're you even listening to me? I chose you to answer the problem. What is the value of X?"
The class snickered.
"12...?" Maya shook out.
Sigh "See me after class please Ms. O'Riley."
"Yes sir.." Maya looked down at her desk, as the class began snickering.

1:58. That's when class ends. As soon as class ended, Maya tried to sneak out of the door to the plain hallway. Then she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Mr. Anderson.
"And where do you think your going miss?" Mr. Anderson said, aggravated.
Sigh "Sorry sir." Maya walked back into the classroom, and sat down at the desk by the teachers desk.
"So, Ms. O'Riley. I've noticed that you haven't been paying attention in class lately, and your grades have been decreasing very quickly, and dramatically. I'm getting worried about your education Maya. Is everything all trigger at home?"
Maya looked down at the floor, mumbling out, "Yes...?"
"Alright then. I am going to give you a detention though. I need you to try harder."
"Wha- Alright..."
Mr. Anderson handed her a detention slip and told her her to go to the detention room for an hour of after-school detention. As Maya walked out of the door, she sighed, this had been the 2nd after school detention she had gotten that week.
"My moms going to kill me..." Maya whispered to herself, as she walked through the flow of people trying to get out of the school.
As Maya walked into the detention room, the detention teacher was getting ready to leave.
"Hello Maya. Again.. Where's your slip?"
"Hello Mrs. Leo.. Here's my slip."
Maya hands her a blue paper with information on it.
"Alright. I'm getting ready to leave, I'm locking the door, and the other teacher will be here soon. Just sit down and do your homework. Okay?" Mrs. Leo said sweetly as she walked out of the door, her keys making a jingling noise.
"Bye.." Maya sat down quietly, and looked at her surroundings. Only one other student there. Max Jaylie. She was a huge bully in the school. Max looked over at olive and sneered.
"And what are you looking at you creep?!" Max growled at her, looking into her eyes.
"Uhm.. sorry.. I was just curious.."
Max stood up, towering over Maya menacingly.
"I'll teach you a lesson about staring at me creep!" Max raised her hand over Maya in a fist, and just before Max's hand hit Maya...

The alarm went off.
