Chapter 2 Nightmare Never Ends

 Violet's POV

Tired and cold, I slipped out of my bed my feet landing with a gentle pat on the cold wooden floor, I stood there for a moment chills running through me from the cold, I shivered before going to the mirror, I tilted my head and brushed my hair through, I my crystal blue eyes were dark and tired, the circles under them ever-growing, but my snow white hair I could keep in check, I tied it back with a ribbon and sighed tiredly. 

I made my way outside my lonely home and went to the river where I found my friends, Armin had new injuries, and Eren throwing a rock into the river, they were talking about something and I could tell they were not happy. I sighed and walked over and sat down next to Armin "Violet! Good morning" the three greeted and I smiled softly.

"tell me what happened you three..." Armin looked away and fidgeted "The bullies again..." Mikasa spoke up for Armin as I hummed and gently hugged the blond boy "Thank you..." he murmured leaning into me "Hmm?... for what?" I asked tilting my head and looking at him "What you did do yesterday, grandpa told me you brought us food, you didnt have to do that... please let me pay you back" I smiled down at him and shook my head "Dont... see it as a thank you..." he looked at me confused and opened his mouth, however when he did, a large bang was heard, it shook the ground, there was a blinding light, I went flying of the edge of the wall and onto the pavement below as did my friends, we all groaned in pain and slowly stood up looking confused. 

The three of us saw multiple people running towards the wall and pointing, without saying anything Armin ran off "Uh Armin what are you doing?!" Eren called out and the three of us followed after him "Talk to me!" Eren asked as we reached the blond, but he was frozen wide-eyed staring at the wall "What's going on, some kind of explosion or..." he silenced himself as he looked up to the wall where everyone's eyes had been glued. 

Looking up at the wall I froze in fear, a large Red hand could just about be seen gripping the top of the wall "No.. that's not possible... that wall is over 50 metres high..." Before we could do or say anything a large gust of winds, and dust engulfed us, the sound of rocks and debris falling through the air, screams and cries grunts of pain the wall had been breached. 

"no... that... he... he blasted a hole... like he was kicking a rock..." Armin and I had fallen, and Mikasa and Eren were staring with wide eyes, "run! Run for your lives!!" people screamed and started to run in panic, the titans had gotten in, and Eren started to walk away in the opposite direction of where we were supposed to be going, I didnt quite hear what he said but I can assume he was going to find his mother, for his house was in the direction of danger, Mikasa ran after him and Armin was frozen not knowing what to do "go to the boats! let's go, Armin!" I grabbed his hand and started to run dragging him with me. 

we ran like our lives depended on it which they did, we tripped a few times we pumped into other panicking people everything went to hell, we had become cattle. Titans were all around the city we spotted quite a few of them but managed to dodge them, that was until one was right before us, we skidded to a stop and it stared down at us with a big grin, "Run!" I screamed and pushed arming to get him to start running which thankfully he did, we both took a few steps, and slowly I was picked up in a tight grip, a scream ripped through my throat and I could hear Armin yelling for me "Go!" I yelled at him as I struggled, he was frozen for a moment but started to run away. 

I hit at the Titan's hands trying to get myself free, its grip tightened and a crack was heard and a scream escaped me, ribs broken in the air leaving me, "Mom..." I cried out as I was being lifted to the monster's mouth, the last thing I saw was a flash of green, I felt myself being let go of and falling before being caught, I heard my name being shouted by a familiar voice but everything went dark. 

I don't know how long I had been unconscious and I don't know where I was but I opened my eyes and glanced around, I tried to sit but a small cry came from me "She's awake" my eyes snapped open to the voice and someone who looked like a medic, and low and behold, my mother rushed over and held my hand "oh Violet honey... I thought I almost lost you..." 

"Mother..." I started to cry and she hugged me gently "It's alright... you're safe now..." she murmured before the sound of the door being opened was heard, a large man with blond hair, i knew him to be Erwin Smith "Violet Evergreen... I'm glad to see your awake and doing well, I'm sorry what happened to your home," he said as he came in and sat down on a chair. 

"thank you, sir..." was the only thing that came from me as I hugged my mother not wishing to let go, he simply hummed and stared "Child... do you wish to become part of the scouts?..." he asked calmly causing my mother to snap her head towards him letting go of me "she will not! Don't put such thoughts into my child's head!" she said protectively, I can understand why, I was almost eaten after all but he said nothing to my mother and only stared at me waiting for a response. 

I was scared, I never wanted to see another Titan again but I knew if they could get through one wall... they could get through another "Yes... sir" he smiled and nodded "Rest... when you have recovered... we will start your training..." he nodded and stood "commander!" "Captain Evergreen... you wish to be with your daughter more often yes? you wish for her to know how to defend herself and make sure she is safe?" he asked seriously, my mother was taken aback and nodded "Then this i how it'll be done... She can train here until she is older and if she still wishes she can then join us as a fledge member, don't be concerned I have no intent on taking her outside of the wall yet" he turned and left. 

The room was silent for some time and slowly Mother sat down and turned to me "You do not need to join the scouts... I can get us a home in Wall Sina you'd be safe there" She held my hand and I smiled shaking my head "I saw first-hand what Titans can do today Mother... I want to help stop them" I murmured and she stared before she sat on the edge of the bed "Sweetheart... it's been a week..." 

I was in disbelief staring up at my mother "What?..." "You've been asleep for over a week my love..." I stared and didnt know what to think "My friends... they were so young... I don't know if they made it..." my 3 younger friends whom I protected and dotted apon I don't know if they were alive, or dead. 

I was left to recuperate, and it took about 6 weeks for me to fully heal after such I was permitted to be trained, my mother trained me for the most part and I didnt talk to many of the others, but they did try to be nice, mother didnt go easy on me and trained me well, the only thing she wasn't good with was hand to hand, she was scared of hurting me and so was everyone else. 

"Trainee Evermore, from today onwards you will be training in hand-to-hand combat by Cadet Levi" A short man but still taller than me stood there with what seemed to be a permanent scowl "Tch" he clicked his tongue and eyed me like I was worthless, "understood sir..."

Levi's Pov 

Being led out by Erwin I was stood in front of Captain Evermore and a young girl she looked like a delicate flower, this is who I'm training "I'm not in this job to babysit eyebrows..." "That's all well and good but you will be training Trainee Evermore, Lucy... let leave them be" The commander took the captain away and I turned to look to the silent girl who put one foot behind the other and raised her hands. she was small, smaller than me, her eyes in colour was a striking crystal blue, but hard dark circles under them, but held a determined look, her long snow white hair was held in a ponytail with a ribbon, a hum escaped me and I pointed "either cut it... or put it into a bun, your begging for it to get snatched by a titan if you leave it like that, it's the same within combat..." she blinked confused before she nodded and put into a bun rather quickly. 

Once she was done she put her two fists up again and was ready to fight, I sighed and stepped forward signalling for her to attack first which she did, she threw a left hook to the side of my head which I easily caught but I wasn't expecting her to throw another punch with her right hand to my stomach "your not... completely useless..." from there I helped her work on her attacks and defences, and she wasn't as much of a shitty brat as I thought she would be, this will be interesting.
