( special note: hihi! below is a special au back when this story reached 1k hearts in quotev. to explain: this is an au where instead of becoming into a demon like muzan, [y/n] is instead turned into a demon by muzan himself, hence under his control. )

The white moon.

It had a familiar color.

A pure white that evoked countless memories within his mind. Perhaps, that was why he chose to look at it so often during his moments of solitude.

To remember the things that have been forgotten. To remember the things that should not have been forgotten.

The comfortable silence did not remain, however. "Muzan-sama... is waiting... for us, [Y/n]," Kokushibo murmured behind him, standing so close that he could feel the other demon's breath on his ear.

The two had just finished up a spar against one another in their boredom.

A test of skills, from one swordsman to the next. He had won with relatable ease, of course. His title as Upper Moon One was a clear reminder to Kokushibo's title of Upper Moon Two which of them held more power, added by the fact of how much older he was than the once demon slayer.

He closed his eyes, listening to the tranquillity of the forest, and after a beat, replied, "I know. I heard his call as well." That low sultry voice had reverberated so loudly in the back of his head, just as always.

He could never hope to ignore the call of his maker.

He was always there, always watching his every move, leering at him and his every thought. Because Muzan wanted everything of him. His mind. His love.

His unending devotion.

He turned around, directly facing those familiar six eyes that stared back without a hint of emotion. "Let us go then. It would be rude of us to keep him waiting," he continued with a small smile curving on his lips.

For all of the Upper Moons to be called, there must be an important matter that Muzan wanted to discuss with them.

Although, 'discuss' was probably too nice of a word to describe what the Demon King had in mind. Yelling at them and their continued uselessness would perhaps be a more apt description of the soon-to-come meeting.

Kokushibo nodded at his words in reply, walking forward to be on his side rather than standing ominously behind him. He did not move away, turning his gaze back up to the moon even when those six eyes remained on his figure.

Kokushibo did not say another word, and neither did he.

And so, there they stood, two demons in the woods, staying still in the lingering silence, waiting for the strings of a biwa that was soon to come.

Being transported away to the Infinity Castle was not that much of an exciting event, especially with how many times he had spent his centuries roaming around the place with Muzan.

His eyes quickly darted around, realizing that Muzan was being a tad bit late to a meeting the demon started in the first place.
