"I'm waiting", Nick said impatiently.
He was angry at her for not telling him that she knew his grandmother personally. She never mentioned it to him. Now he understood why Ben made suvh a comment of her knowing any of his family members. He should have suspected that something was fishy. Ben never says assumes something without being sure of the accuracy of the assumptions. Now he was even more curious to find out about her relationship with Hannah.
"She's like a fairy godmother to me." Anna said staring at him.
He didn't reply and simply waited for her to elaborate.
She took a deep breath and moved further into the room. She didn't want to tell him the circumstances around her meeting his grandmother, but she knew if she didn't he'd go straight to Hannah and she'd tell him all she knew about her. After all they were supposed to be dating. She did the best thing that she could, tell him parts of the story.
She avoided his eyes as she sat on the edge of the bed. She looked up at him and smiled gently. "Come over here and sit with me."
He was about to tell her he'd prefer to stand when he noticed her expression. She had the gentlest of smiles on her face that made his heart beat faster. He noticed as she guarded her emotions from showing on her face.
He quietly moved towards her and sat down beside her. She turned her head to face him and stared into his eyes, like she was searching his soul.
His anger was long forgotten, he was mesmerized at how beautiful she looked up close. He didn't know how long they just stared at each other.
She looked away and stared at the floor. He concluded that she wasn't going to say anything about it, but she proved him wrong.
"My mom used to work in one of your grandfather's bar in New York." She looked up at him but quickly looked away when she noticed he was staring at her intensely. "Hannah helped my mom to be who she is today and for that I'm eternally grateful."
She didn't want to say more than she felt necessary. "Ever since then they've been good friends, despite their age difference. Hannah is a very good woman. I admire her spirit."
He knew there was a lot more to the story she wasn't telling him, but he didn't want to push her to tell him. He could see just how much it affected her. He'd have to find out the full story himself one way or another.
"Ok."
She got up quickly, facing him with a very huge smile on her face. "So... now that that is settled could you please show me around now? My curiosity is becoming unbearable."
"Ok...", he looked at her surprised. Her sudden change in mood was surprising to him. She was good at hiding her emotions, he concluded.
She pulled him off the bed and he let her drag him towards the room door. Once they stepped out of the room, she looked up at him, waiting for him to lead the way. He merely shook his head in resignation and started to show her around.
He showed her around their estate and introduced her to all the staff they met on their way. The place was huge. It was a two story building with a penthouse. The house was beautifully furnished. The garden looked beautiful with all its flowers. She was amazed. It was his own mansion. Simple yet extravagant and beautiful. When he told her that it was his grandmother that picked out the interiors, she wasn't surprised. Hannah has always had good eyes for beautiful things.
After he showed her around, he walked with her towards the gate, to the security post.
"Where are we going?", she asked when she noticed that they were headed towards the gate.
