Goodbye

A scream. All it took to bring the two out of their own world and back on their feet, crossbow and knife in hand as they run towards it. They get there and see a group of people in a circle, Jenny pushes passed them to see what they are looking at. It was Dale, he was on the floor covered in his own blood with bites all on him. Jenny turns round and Daryl holds her as she hides her head in his neck "oh my god no" she cries, he just holds her tighter
"He's suffering. Do something" Andrea begs
"Come on" Dale chokes out, barely able to speak
"Oh, God" Andrea cries out, tears down her face as Rick raises his gun to Dale, his hands shaking, eyes red, but as he cocks it Daryl reaches over and takes the gun from his hand, giving Rick a look he slowly point the gun back to Dales head "I'm sorry, brother" he pulls the trigger and everything goes silent "Mom?" Scott says from behind the crowd of people, she moves away from Daryl and goes over to him "come on honey" she wipes her face "you don't need to see this" she moves him away, Daryl follows behind
"What happened mom?"
"Dale got bit"
"What?"
"We couldn't do anything" she stops and bends down to his height, Daryl joins her "I'm sorry Scotty, he's dead"
"No. mom" he hugs her 
"It's okay kid" Daryl says patting his shoulder

The next day, Jenny hasn't slept at all, she's just been wondering around the camp, thinking about everything, from Daryl and their kiss to Dale and his end. Unable to get her head around everything. The sun start to rise and she notices something off, she sees Shane take Randall out and into the woods, she follows behind carefully, making sure he doesn't notice her.
He leads Randall to a spot and from behind a tree Jenny watches him murder him, she watches horrified, she steps back to tell the others but he hears a twig snap from beneath her foot and sees her
"what did you do Shane" she asks in disgust
"what are you doing here"
"what did you do" she repeats "Rick chose for him to live"
"I protected our family"
"this is wrong"
"this is right, and sooner you realise that, the safer we will be"
"no your wrong"
"I'm right and you need to adapt to survive in this world" he tells her, moving closer to her
"I'm telling the others what you did" she turns and tries to quickly go back
"no your not" he says following after her, he reaches her and pushes her against a tree winding her
"Let go of me Shane"
"No" he starts to choke her
"Shane" she pleads
"No one to save you now. No Rick, No Dale and not Daryl" he squeezes tighter around her neck, she tries to scratch and pull at his hand, but nothing works, everything start going black and blurry and she start to cough "No one is coming" he smacks her head against the tree and for her everything final goes black and she takes one last breath as he lets go and leaves her there. 

He makes it back to the group and tells them Randall attacked him and took Jenny
"He took Jennifer?"
"Yeah, he surprised me, we were just talking, he came up behind us, smacked with a stuck or something, when I woke up Jenn was gone"
"Why'd you take her out there" Daryl asks
"We wanted some privacy, problem with that, Dixon?"
"No. No problem"
"Come on, I'll go with Shane. DAryl you and Glenn go the other way, we need to find her. And him"
"I'll show you" Shane says leading Rick to the forest. Glenn and Daryl follow some tracks.
"You don't believe Shane do you?"
"I believe J wouldn't go anywhere private with him" they follow the tracks and see a body on the floor "J" he goes and rolls it over, the walker comes alive and attacks him and Glenn, they kill it. Realising it's Randell
"he was killed"
"If he was killed where is Jenn?" Glenn asks looking around, Daryl follows some more footprints and then he sees her, shes against the tree, eyes open staring "no" he whispers to himself 
"Jenn" Glenn shouts as he goes towards her, followed by Daryl "what happened here?"
Daryl bends down to look at her, she moves her head slowly to face him, they finally realise she's not dead
"J are you okay. What happened did the kid do this" Daryl asks checking her over, she stares at him, eyes blank, still saying nothing
"do you understand us?" Glenn asks "She could have a concussion "
"Come on" he helps her up, she starts to fall again so he picks her up bridal style "your okay. Your going to be okay"
"Just tell us what happened"
"Shane. It's all Shane" she finally tells them
" he did this?" Daryl questions, she nods weakly in reply
"Ricks with him..." Glenn realises
"We need to get back"

Shane has by this time gotten Rick to an opening, it's not dark and Shane has started to go well and truly crazy. He starts rambling on about being a better father and protector, then pulls a gun out and points it at Rick. Rick takes a few steps back before getting his knife and stabbing Shane. They both fall to the floor as Shane dies "Damn you for making me do this, Shane. This was you, not me! You did this to us! This was you, not me... not me! Not me!" he says to Shanes lifeless body

"Dad?" Rick hears, he gets up and sees Scott and Carl stood a couple feet from them and have watched the whole thing
"Carl... Scotty"
"Dad" Scott calls out again walking towards Rick and Shane
"Scott, no don't-" Scott pulls out a gun and points it at Rick "you really have to stop taking those Scott"
"You killed my dad"
"Scott put the gun down please, I can explain" he looks at Carl "To both of you"
"right now"
"Put the gun down first"
"NO" he shouts "I'm tired of people telling me they explain something later and then don't. I'm tired of being treated like a child"
"Okay, okay. I promise , When have I ever lied to you"
He stares at his uncle then raises the gun and fires it, shooting past his head and hitting the walker Shane had become, that was creeping up behind Rick. He lowers the gun slowly and Rick takes it off him and hugs him, Carl comes over and they all hug until Carl steps away and points to the tree line the other two turn round and see a herd of walkers coming their way and they take of running trying to get back to the farm.
They get them to the Barn, Daryl, Glenn and Jenny arrive
"Jennifer" Rick hugs her, what happened?" he sees the bruises around her neck
"shane attacked her, we all need to get out of that fire is not going to hold them of for long"
"Wheres Scott?" Jenny speaks
"I sent him of with Carl to Lori" she nods and runs off 
"Where Shane, I want to kill him" Daryl asks
"Bit to late, I killed him" Rick tells him
"Good, he tried to kill her"
"look guys the walkers are getting closer can we please move this along"
"right, yeah" they set the barn on fire and they all get split up.

Eventually they all meet up on the road, outside, last arriving was Glenn and Maggie
"Has anyone seen my mom? she should be here by now" Scott asks
"No, not till she went back to check to make sure everyone was out" Lori answers
"you left without her" Daryl says walking over
"She said she'd be right behind us"
"She's clearly not"
"Daryl calm down, she'll be here"
"Actually" Maggie starts talking "I don't think she will be coming here" she wipes her eyes "I saw her, we, we were leaving and more walkers came. We were trapped. I thought we were but, she led them away and they swarmed her"
"but she got away?" Scott asks
"no."
"How can you be sure Maggie?" Hershel asks his daughter
"I hear her screams, I still hear them but I couldn't do anything to stop it" she starts breaking down and Glenn holds and hugs her tight
"No" Scott cries out "No, she can't be"
"Scotty-" Rick says, eyes red and almost leaking
"No I killed my dad, I can't lose my mom"
"Scott" he goes to hug Scott, but he moves away from him
"No. I just got her back. I want my mom. I WANT MY MOM" he shouts, Daryl crouches down to him
"Scott I know how you feel. Okay, you'll be okay"
"I want my mom.. Daryl" he starts to cry so Daryl pulls him into a hug "I want her too" Daryl says letting a tear fall down his eye
