After Nellie's speech Mrs. Olsen had invited the school to see the opening of the new building. They all walked to the cover as Mrs. Olsen introduced it. A restaurant and of course it's named after Nellie. Mrs. Olsen then said, "For our entertainment I'm gonna have my student Charlotte Ingalls be the singer every weekend at night." Charlotte's eyes went wide as Nellie smirked. All the Ingall's wondered why Nellie liked Charlotte better than any of her family. After what happened all the kids went back for more of the lesson. Afterwards the Ingall's oldest and Garvey's son walked over to the restaurant and saw a sign 'Help wanted cook'

"I'm not surprised that Nellie and Mrs. Olsen are depending on others to help with the cooking." Then a voice beside them called out as a handsome man with dirty blonde hair said, "School out yet?" All the kids nodded as the man said, "Do you know if Miss Wilder's gone home yet?" Andy then said, "No. She's keeping somebody after school." Charlotte thought that the man was very handsome and even just looking at him made her blush and look away. "Thank you. Thank you very much." He started over to the school as Lottie and Laura stared after the man and Lottie sighed. Laura then said, "You 2 go on. We'll catch up." This made the boys confused but Lottie started to walk over to the school. "Hi Miss Wilder." Miss. Wilder looked over at Charlotte and said, "Oh, Lottie. Did you want to see me?" Charlotte smiled and said, "I was wondering if you have any book suggestions. You see. I ran out of books to read and I enjoy reading in my spare time."

"I believe I can help with that. Oh, Charlotte, this is my brother Almanzo." Almanzo smiled but in his heart nearly fluttered seeing the girl. "Pleasure to meet you, Charlotte. My friends call me Manny" This made Charlotte smile and said, "Nice to meet you Manny. My friends call me Lottie." Almanzo smiled and said, "Well, I hope I can get to know you better Lottie." Lottie smiled as Almanzo started to horse carriage and trotted away "CHARLOTTE! It's time for your singing lessons!" Mrs. Olsen said, making her sigh and walked over to the mercantile for her lesson.

Hours later she was walking home there she saw her favorite tree. She grabbed a sharp rock and wrote down the initials of her and Almanzo. 'A.M+C.I'
