Rose POV:
A dim lit room, a glass of whiskey, and a pair of lace panties that aren't mine are what keep me company on this cold, November night as I wait for my husband to get home after being "late from work" again. The door could be heard opening and closing before the man with dark brown hair and brown eyes walks past the dining room to see me waiting for him. "Hey babe. They kept me late again." He says. A red wine stain visible on the collar of his white shirt as he comes into the room.
"See, I don't really believe that. I found something in our room under the bed." I get up, walking over to him, the panties in my hand. "Give these back to her when you see her again." I hand them to him, shock visible on his features.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about. These are obviously yours." Nick states, stumbling over his words. I know it's just a matter of time before he gets angry. He hates being called out and I'm usually the one he takes it out on even if I'm not the one who called him out.
"Never seen those before in my life. Not to mention neither of us drink wine and there is a clear wine stain on your shirt." I say, my anger starting to get the best of me. I can almost feel the tears about to spill from my eyes.
"For fucks sake, Rose! Nothing happened, I stopped at the bar after and someone spilled wine on me. I didn't tell you I went there because I knew you would get pissed." He shouted, throwing the underwear on the floor out of frustration.
"Again, I don't buy it! Even if you did go to the bar, that doesn't explain those." I snap back, pointing to the panties on the floor. I go to storm away, but he grips my arm tightly.
"You aren't going anywhere. I love you and I'm sorry you found out this way, but Lacey and I just hit off when we met and things just kinda happened." He explains, but my blood boils when I hear the name.
"Lacey?" I yank my arm away. "As in my best friend since we were 5, Lacey?" I ask, shaking from anger. I don't give him time to answer before I down my glass of whiskey and make my way to the door. "You have until I get back to get out of my house, Nick. I want a divorce." With that, I slam the door and walk down the street to where our local bar is.

Once inside, I make my way to where I see Lacey. She's in our usual spot at a table, talking with a couple of our other friends. "Lacey, we need to talk." I say, trying to cool myself down before I blow.
"Hey, Rose. What's up?" She says, her smile changing once she sees my face and slightly bruised wrist from where Nick grabbed it. "What's wrong? Did he hurt you again?"
"The fact you can say that after fucking him." I say, an angry laugh following my sentence. She looks at me stunned.
"What are you talking about? I never slept with your husband." She says, tucking a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear.
"Really? Is that why he admitted to it after I found your underwear in my bedroom? Also, he's my soon to be ex husband." I almost yell at her. Our friends are all now standing, the bar getting silent.
"Okay, fine. But what did you expect? The love is clearly not there since you manage to get him so pissed with your damn habits he has to hit you to listen. I'm just being a good friend by giving him some good sex to cool him down before he has to deal with you." With that, she's on the ground and my knuckles are aching. I just sucker punched my best friend.
"Rose, come with me." The bartender, who also happens to be a friend of mine, says as she leads me to the bar and fixes me a drink. I sip from my whiskey, tying my dyed blue hair into a bun. "Take this, I know this'll make you feel better." She says as she hands me a pill. Knowing what it is, I willingly take it and that's all I remember of that night before I wake up the next day on my living room couch with a pounding headache.
