"Look, man. You have to understand! I need this job!" Lauren yelled at his manager. Despite his 'girly' name, he was born a boy.
"You must not need it enough, from your lack of professionalism and your day to day inability to be on time, I'd hardly say you'd need a job at all."
His manager, Kiyan then turned his back on Lauren, but spoke a bit more. "But I'll be generous and give you your paycheck. Yet, be warned. It is docked, heavily." He said, shooting a look at Lauren.
Lauren stormed out, throwing his equipment down to the ground. He then slammed the door closed behind him.
"Fuck that stupid job! I got sick of his shit anyway!" Lauren said, coming into his house on edge. Before he got let go, he was doing pretty well. He had a car at 15 but couldn't drive till 17, Highschool was easy, and he just got a new house. But life is so good, till it's not.
Lauren changed into his pajamas after taking a nice long hot bubble bath, those always calmed him down from stressful situations.
The Next Morning: 7:25am, Tuesday, Highschool Building.
"Lauren! wsg?" Asked Jonny, -short for Jonathan,- running up to him.
"Nothin', what about you?" Lauren asked, he was putting his things away in his locker and grabbing out his school supplies so his teachers wouldn't nag at him for, "not being prepared for class."
"Bro, I heard that your little crush-"
"Riyah."
"Yeah-yeah, whatever! I heard that rIyaH has a boyfriend now." Jonny said, resisting to say a, "told you so" along with it. "I mean, I've warned you not to get all sappy with popular girls. It was bound to happen lil bro." He said with a shrug.
"You can't even let me process without shoving another 'told you so' down my throat?" Lauren said, obviously agitated.
"Relax, it's not that serious."
"Do you know who it was? Is?" Lauren said, way to into this new topic.
"I don't know, some dude named Lewis but that's about all I kno-" before he could even finish, Lauren interrupted.
"What year is he? Is he in AP classes? Does he have any classes with me? Or-or her? What does he look li-"
"LAUREN. If you would let me finish, I was going to say that's all I know. I don't know!" Yelled Jonny, making about half of the people in the hallway heads turn.
Lauren clicked his tongue. "Yeah, alright."
"Anyways, let's get to class. Bell rings in fifty-seven minutes and Mr.Detages classroom is on the other side of the building."
"Okay." Today was not Lauren's day. But that's okay, tomorrow is another day.
Wednesday, 7:26am Highschool Building.
"Riyah?" Lauren came up to her, trying not to freeze up right then and there.
She turned around, a curious look on her face. "Laurey? Did I say it right?- ah, hello!" She waved politely.
"It's laur-REN but- that's okay..you can call me that if you can't pronounce my name! And it's kind cute-COOL. Kinda cool." Lauren said, only this nervous when he had to lead stretches for his basketball team.
"wow. Nice save, dingus." Jonny said from behind him. Lauren side-ed him.
"Lauren..Oh, okay! I got it. So, laurey, what do you need?" She asked, a slight head turn motion.
'she immediately forgot how to say it...even though I just told her..that's cute..' Lauren thought, almost forgetting he was really interacting with her.
"O-oh! Oh, uhm, I was wondering if you wanted to hang-out or something..?" He asked, noticing he actually had to slightly look down to see her.
"Yes! Of course, but-"
'But what? Is she going to ask if I mean it in a date way? Is she going to tell me that she has a boyfriend? Shes taken? Is she-'
"I have to know where and what time." She asked.
"Oh, oh of course. If I can have your number, I'll text you the place." He hadn't even noticed that he flat out asked for her number.
"Oh! Okay, Laurey. Talk to you later, class is about to start." She said, waking off. Lauren started at his phone, then her. Today, was his day.
Thursday, 8:12pm. Interviewing faculty.
The manger read over Lauren's resume. He felt his heart beating out of him, nerves trickling up and down his spine. He was so anxious, he wanted to just hide.
"Oh, Sir?" The Manager, Trenton, asked. Gaining Lauren's attention.
"Yes, Mr. Wallace?" Lauren asked, swallowing the stutter in his voice.
"You are more than qualified to take this job! When can you start?" The manager asked quickly. Lauren felt like something was going on.
"U-uh..tomorrow..after school." Lauren didn't even know what he really signed up for, he just knew he needed a job. Using an online job website, he clicked every option until this job said "interview accepted" before the others. He didn't want to take his chances.
"That's great! So, you can be our night shift guard, okay? We will give you a proper demo when you actually start. It's not hard at all, does 12am to 6am work for you?"
Lauren took in that he would be missing out on sleep hours, but he needed a job. For the income, and because why would anyone want to get with a lazy bum? He knows Riyah wouldn't.
"Yes, that's a good window." Lauren responded with, standing up and taking all of his stuff.
"Okay! See you tomorrow. Address is written down on the sheet I gave you. Also a video link of where you will be, so it won't be much of a shock when you get there." He explained, nicely. Lauren looked at him, and actually took his look into account. Dark blue eyes. A dirty brown beard and mustache littered with gray..black glasses and the smile that never seemed to leave that man's face. Lauren suppressed a shudder.
"Thank you." Lauren said leaving the door, and looking at the note as he walked to his car.
"Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria.. the fuck is a Freddy?"
