"Oh my gosh, a love poem is so you!" Momo squealed. She didn't need to say that it was perfect. As I said, she was an open book.
"I would like to think that it's one of my strengths. Alas, I can only prove that after I send him the poem..." I thought, giving the ground a deep, meaningful look.
"Don't overthink it, just speak from the heart," Momo winked, "I'll help you come up with some cute metaphors later."
"Thank you, but I'd prefer to do it myself. It'll sound better, I think. No offence." I answered. I had a theory - if I just gushed it would be perfect. As far as I knew, Shoto couldn't write a poem to save his life so it didn't need to be fancy.
"Yeah, no, I get that!" Momo smiled in understanding.
The chair scraped along the ground beside us. Momo turned back to facing the front and I turned directly to my left so that we could see the grape gremlin Mineta, watching me like a predator. A primal instinct to run filled my veins with adrenaline, but I ignored it and watched him instead. Maybe he'd have something slightly less useless than normal to say.
"You know, if you need help writing a love poem you know who to call..." Mineta raised his maniacal eyebrows.
"I will drop kick you into the Sun, Mineta." I glared at him distastefully.
"No, you won't-"
But I'd had enough. I grabbed his head, and he let out a small yelp as I dropped him and then, as I already said, kicked him. He went flying at supersonic speed towards the Sun, parting the clouds as he did so. The window's glass threw itself away from our classroom where behind me seventeen grateful students turned to me and applauded.
I turned around and Shoto was stood there. He blushed and gave a cute little smile, "Oh my..."
He then leant in for a kiss and-
"Did he zone out?" Mineta sneered, back in the real world. Momo looked concerned at me with a wide side-eye.
"No." I lied.
He rolled his eyes, "Well, as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted by your... visions, I'd gladly help you write a poem!"
"Nobody wants your help writing a poem, Mineta," Momo smiled sourly, "And mind your own business!"
"Whatever, your loss!"
He scooched back over. I sighed, keeping a stony gaze to match my interior. Me and Momo shared a glance for a moment, but then she looked past me. I turned to see the last classmate to arrive, Mezo Shoji.
He gave me a look of his own, but this one was a lot more bitter. He took his seat at the front. My heart panged again; I had a horrible aching in my stomach telling me that this was probably my fault.
"What's up with you two? I've never known Shoji to be so... not docile. You know?" Momoyao frowned sorrowfully, looking at Mezo caringly. Maybe she didn't know him very well, but as class vice-president it was her job to support Iida in keeping everyone in the class happy.
"He's not at all pleased that I've been spending less time with him." I frowned, "But I know him. There has to be something else going on..."
Momo shook her head, "Regardless, that's totally unfair!"
I didn't have anything to say in reply, but regardless Aizawa wouldn't have allowed it. He was fast to enter and tell everyone to get to their seats.
"Hurry up!" Aizawa tutted, "Ahem. Now, before we start there is something which Iida and Yaoyorozu have bought to light as your class presidents. You still don't have your provisional licenses."
