A/N NOTE: So I've decided to restart this story and change it completely (sorry) I had some other ideas in mind and will try to write them out here I mostly like slowburn so yhh if this doesn't get that many reads I probably won't upload anymore (😭)

Wednesday's POV:

I woke up to a loud buzzing sound next to my head, I opened my eyes, noticing that Enid was calling. Xavier gifted me a phone before we left last semester and Enid would always text me 'Good morning' and 'Good night' messages, I never replied to the morning ones, only the night ones. I never understood what's so 'good' about a morning, why was she even calling? I already told her to call me only if it's absolutely necessary, an emergency for example. I declined her call and closed my eyes again, but just as I was about to go back to sleep, she messaged me, I groaned in annoyance, as I looked at my phone again

"Pls can u answer the call it's very important"

I stared at the message, before finally deciding to answer one of the calls, which she was spamming
"Wednesday!" I heard her yell over the phone "What is it? I told you to only call me if it's necessary, not when you want" "This is an emergency, please!" Her voice sounded crackly, like she was recently crying "Come on, spit it out before I hang up" I said, a tint of annoyance in my tone "Ajax broke up with me and- and now that I don't have a mate, my mother kicked me out of the family pack! I'm at Nevermore right now, I know you don't like me, but please.. I don't wanna be here alone" I knew she hated being alone and hearing her cry like that awakened something in me, I hung up the phone and set it on my nightstand

I walked over to my closet to get dressed, as I then walked out of my room, into the living room "Mother, my roommate, Enid is experiencing some family issues and has currently no place to stay at, could she stay with us?" Even if I didn't like Enid, I didn't want her to be alone after what happened last semester, she was definitely terrified "Why, of course, where is she right now, storm cloud?" My mother asked and I thought for a moment if I really wanted this, if I could tolerate having her live in my house "She's at Nevermore, at least that's what she told me" I say, interlocking my fingers together "Well, Lurch can go pick her up right now" my mother replies, as I nod "I'll.. let him know" I then walk out of the house, Lurch was already in the car, weird.

"Lurch, can you drive me to Nevermore?" I asked, knocking on the window, he unlocks the car and I sit down in the backseat, he doesn't say anything, as he starts to drive, it's a approximately a 4 hour drive, shit, I forgot to tell Enid that my mother let her stay, whatever for now.

———————————————————————

I step inside the school, it's all empty and quiet, I like it better this way, the sound of my shoes hitting the ground echoes through the corridors, as I make my way down the Ophelia hall, I soon reach the dorm Enid and I are sharing, I can hear faint sobbing and sniffling sounds coming from inside the room, I grab the doorknob, turning it and opening the door, Enid screams loudly, falling off her bed, hitting the ground with a loud thud. I stand there for a moment, before my senses finally awaken and I fast-walk to her, helping her stand up "Are you okay?" I ask, as she suddenly swings her arms around me into a bone crushing hug "WEDNESDAY!" I immediately pushed her away and took a step back "W-What are you doing here?" "I'm here to pick you up, my family let you stay with us-" Before I could finish what I was saying, she locks me into another hug, sobbing into my shoulder "Enid, let go." I commanded, but she gripped me tighter, I let out a quiet sigh, letting her hug me for a few moments

"Hurry up and pack your stuff before I leave you here" I said and she immediately let go of me, running back to her bed to pack, a look of excitement and happiness on her face, she soon finishes packing, she had eight, EIGHT bags of clothes and at least two of them were only filled with her mortifying stuffed animal collection "I'm ready!" She exclaimed happily, a big and bright smile on her face. I look at all the bags she has packed "Do you seriously need this much?" I asked, a tint of annoyance behind my voice, she nodded "Yes, of course!" I rolled my eyes, as I walked over to the bags and picked two of them up "Let's go then" We start walking out of the school and towards my parents' car, where I set the two bags into the trunk, she puts the rest of them in the backseat, as there wasn't a lot of space in the trunk.

I sat down on the opposite side of the bags and she sat down beside me "Thank you so much, Wednesday, this means a lot to me" she said, her eyes turning glossy, she was probably gonna cry again, I hate tears. "It's no problem, just stop crying." As soon as Lurch started driving, she began to cry again, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, I was making a mistake by bringing her to my house. "Enid." I say her name in a strict tone, but she doesn't stop, sobbing uncontrollably, I did the unthinkable and grabbed her hand, it was uncomfortably warm, she opened her eyes and smiled at me through her tears "Thanks.." she mumbled in a rather embarrassed tone, holding my hand tightly, I only let her do it for the sake of keeping her quiet. She kept either looking out the window or at me throughout the whole ride back to my house, it was honestly making me uncomfortable

Very short sorryyyyyy I'll try making them longer but I'm kinda busy with school so I might not be able to upload often 1074 words
