Aemma landed roughly on the floor and groaned in pain as she landed with her elbows on the edge of her bed. Tears welled up in her eyes.

"Don't look at me like that, girl," the man laughed snidely as he felt Aemma's angry gaze turn on him. "You brought this on yourself. Nobody likes interfering women."

Then he slammed the door behind him and Aemma heard the door being locked. She jumped up and shook the door, but she had no chance. The door was closed. She banged desperately against the door and slid down it. Desperately, she leaned her head against the cold wood and closed her eyes.

What had she done?

Aegon had her and her little brother come over to introduce Aegon to Jaehaera, who was visibly uncomfortable.

"What does this mean, Aegon?" she had hissed as Aegon, the younger, hid behind her.

"I want them to get to know each other."

"For what purpose?"

He watched her for a moment, studying her face and she saw curiosity in it.

"I'm thinking about getting them engaged."

Aemma had looked at Aegon irritably, her eyebrows furrowed. "You want to do what?" She looked at the two children. "Get engaged? Have you lost your mind?  Why would you do that? You are joking, right?"
