It all started when Wednesday noticed Enid staring rather wistfully at a dress in a dress shop window.

It was one of those colorful monstrosities, and fluffy. Which was a crime in its own right. Still, deciding that it would be a good idea to at least ask enid why she seemed to want a dress that much so walking over to Enids side she asked "Why do you want the colorful monstrosity"

Enid was so engrossed in staring at the dress that she barely noticed Wednesdays words. Once she did notice that the seer was much closer than before and staring at her she started a bit with a yelp blushing a deep red.

Wednesday decided that it was a color suited to Enid. Though all colors seemed to become bearable, dare she say beautiful on the werewolf. Lost in her musings Wednesday almost didn't notice her companion starting to speak in an embarrased, guilty? tone.

"Um well, I don't, I don't like it- the dress I mean, it's not my style at all, not my style one bit"

Now Wednesday didn't believe that for one moment, but she was slightly puzzled as to why the colorful frilly Enid would say no to something as colorful and frilly as that dress. It was Enid in fabric form. So furrowing her eyebrows she started to walk briskly behind the speed walking werewolf.

--------------------------------

Once they were back in their dorm room Wednesday commanded Thing to go buy the dress, after asking him his opinion on why Enid was acting in such a way.

He was severely unhelpful besides some misguided thoughts on how she should comfort the girl.

As Wednesday lay in her bed she pondered on the issue for a full hour-Enid had only ever lied once before- before she heard a noise coming from the balcony.

Getting up Wednesday crept towards the balcony, footsteps as silent if not quieter than a felines. Only to stop once she heard the silent sobs of, that couldnt be Enid?! But as she crept ever closer she realized that yes, it was her Enid. Who had made her cry? They were already six feet in the ground as far as Wednesday was concerned, all she needed was two hours and they would be gone.

Enid stiffened and turned around slowly, not even bothering to wipe away the tears that ran down her broken face and over her scars. Her voice broke as she whispered Why are you out here Wednesday?"

"Why are you crying?"

Fingers shaking and shoulders trembling the other replied "None of your business"

Wednesday felt anger flare in her stomach and snake up her spine "It is my business if someone who belongs to me is crying" she snapped

Enid looked like as if she was in shock, mouth agape and tears pouring anew down her face as she started to crumple to the ground.

Wednesday manages to cach her just before the floor met her poor Enid. Checking her pulse she determined that the girl was ok for now. A few moments later it became clear that the blonde wasn't going to wake up for quite a while. With strength that didn't show it's face often Wednesday lifted the girl into her arms and carried her to her bed.

Sitting down beside her Wednesday sat guard against any intangible nightmares and monster, she sat to guard the girl against anything that might dare to harm her.

-------------------------------------

Morning came and with it Enid awoke. Wednesday had never felt relief before but what she must be feeling now would be close.

Raising her eyebrow in question she stared at the girl, questions filling her eyes.

Sighing Enid fiddled with her fingers nervously and said "I guess I can't just have a cookie and not explain right?"

Wednesday simply stared

"Promise you won't kill them on family day and I'll tell you"

Now that was interesting, the seer supposed that if it was needed she could always get her family to 'visit' these people. Technically that wouldn't be breaking her side of the deal seeing that she wouldn't be doing the flaying.

Enids squinted at the goth and nodded now playing with her hair she began her tale

-----------------------------------------

There was no help for it, Wednesday would simply have to go back on her word for the first time in her life. Those people that Enid, her darling Enid called family, would have to dissappear. After some torture of course.

Enid looked at Wednesday who was sitting stock still eyes open in the way the opened when she was imagining being particularly violent to someone. Quietly reaching out a hand she took the witches hand in hers and hoping on all the wolf gods, if there even were any that is, that Wednesday would still be her friend.

Wednesday slowly looked Enid up and down and said "They were not your family, they were bastards not worthy of being in your presence for a mere moment"

At those words Enid looked up at her eyes shining with unscheduled tears. The raven haired girlcarefully cupped Enids face in her hands and leaning forward-she got as far as her nose-Thing burst into the room.

Oh he was so dead.

He was not dead but his hand lotion would disappear for a solid 2 weeks. He was spared because he was dragging a box with the dress shops name on it.

Picking up the box Wednesday presented the box to Enid.

Gasping Enids trembling hands reached for the box hesitantly, almost not sure if she could touch it. When be boxes lid was taken off and Wednesday was saying "The dress is yours now"

Wednesday was bowled over by a hug from the werewolf.
