Foxjin and Colder

Between Life and Death

Colder sits there staring at her lifeless form, occasionally she twitches as if dreaming... she’s been unconscious for the last few hours despite the healing potions he had tossed on her.
He sighs getting up and heading outside to think, it’s late afternoon now, he wants to know what Foxjin had been meaning to tell him. He’s not sure when she will wake up.
All the sudden he sees a skeleton with an iron helmet standing there on the obsidian watching him.
Colder stares then draws his sword prepared to kill it.

 “Hi!” The skeleton greets him all the sudden.

“You can talk?” Colder asks.

Something feels very off about this skeleton...

"Yes, it's a long story...” he replies holding up his bow, “are you his friend?”

“Huh?” Colder asks.

“I've been watching, are you his friend?” the skeleton repeats.

Then Colder realizes he means Foxjin.

“Oh... sorta, I dunno... also she's a girl.”

The skeleton blinks,

“Oh... hmm," he says, “I'm Skelly, it's a nickname!”

Colder stares at him a moment longer then looks up at the sun blazing above, he slips down his hood feeling better instantly. The skeleton stares, studying him, he reminds him of someone...

“I'm Colder,” he replies, something... he can't quite place it.

The skeleton gasps suddenly, “I knew it was you!” he yells. 

Colder stares at him in shock, 

Wait...

“Nico?” He asks.

“Colder?” Skelly replies, then he pulls something out from behind his back, it's a black tee shirt with a white skeleton head on it. 

“It is you!” Colder exclaims.

“Ahhhh!” Nico yells excitedly, “I can't believe it!”

Colder is beaming so happily, it's been such a long time. After he left to join the Resistance, he’d never thought they would meet again. He remembers his blonder hair and his happy smile and blue eyes...

“What happened to you?” he asks, staring at the skeleton now before him.

“I was turned into a skeleton by Herobrine, after you left for that group” Nico replies.

“Herobrine?” Colder asks in surprise, he knew Herobrine could do some shifty stuff but...

“Yeah” Nico explains the whole story to him and how he and his dad had been at the mansion ever since.

“Woah, but how did you get here?” Colder asks.

“Well, Herobrine wanted us to collect former vessels to figure out how they got cured. I offered to go because I also wanted another chance to search for you. So, I was led here to find the former vessel that lived in this ravine.”

Colder stares at him,

“Wait a minute...” he asks, “she was a Herobrine vessel?” maybe that's what she wanted to tell me... he finishes in his head as Nico nods.

 “She was nice enough to give me this helmet, but now she's hurt isn't she? I can't believe I found you!” he grins happily again, “although I was supposed to be back yesterday, I guess looking for former vessels is a bad idea...” 

Colder looks back towards the house in the ravine.

“I splashed healing on her... I guess we will just have to see when she wakes up.”

Nico nods.
