SYNOPSIS!
JANG WONYOUNG is the daughter of South Korea's most powerful mafia boss. Heir to an empire with a legacy stretching back decades and decades, she grew up with everything she could ever want at her feet. Pretty much everyone in the criminal underworld knows her name, except... her mother's reputation makes it so hard to make any real friends. Under Wonyoung's cold, elegant, untouchable princess image is just a very sad and lonely teenage girl. Who will eventually grow up to be a very sad and lonely woman adult. Her future is basically all written out for her.
DANIELLE MARSH, on the other hand, is a complete mystery. Nobody knows who she is or where she came from, just that for some reason Wonyoung's mother decided to make Danielle's older brother her right-hand man. This, of course, meant that Wonyoung and Danielle ended up practically growing up alongside each other. And Danielle was... nice. She didn't look at Wonyoung like everybody else did, with fear or envy or hatred in her eyes. She was different. Dare I say, she was even... not like other girls.
The two quickly became inseparable besties. Danielle's sunshiny disposition melted down Wonyoung's carefully constructed walls of ice like it was nothing, and Wonyoung found herself making all kinds of stupid exceptions for her as the years passed by. Maybe she even started to catch, like, feelings, or something. Whatever. That's not even important anymore, because on the horrible night that changed everything, Danielle betrayed her.
And then Danielle died. Like, she definitely died. Wonyoung literally pushed her off a cliff. What a way to end a friendship.
