Ruby's childhood

Ruby sat with Barnabas who had explained the whole thing to her which made her close her eyes and go into deep thought for a moment

"I see so you believe me to be the reincarnation of your dead lover and Angelique is the witch who cursed you to forever dwell as a vampire" Ruby said

Barnabas nodded "I know it's a bit farfetched but..." Ruby cut off Barnabas "I believe you" she said making him look at her surprised "you do" he said

Ruby glanced at him "I suppose you can say I have my peculiarities as well" Ruby said as she got up and took a step towards Barnabas

"But to think you were a playboy it's really interesting for me to hear...tell me who else have you done it with" Ruby said her face smiling but an angered tone in her voice

"I have not...I have given up on those days my one and only true love is the one who tamed the beast inside me" Barnabas said looking at Ruby with loving eyes

Ruby furrowed her brows hearing this she said Nothing else but walked out looking a bit melancholy in her heart 'even if I am a reincarnation it still hurts to be believed as someone else' Ruby thought to herself

Flashback to 10 years ago...

A couple of kids were beating on 10 year old Ruby in Paris and it made her wince every time she stood there in pain unable to move as she cried "it hurts" she said trying to stand up

She got up and headed towards the opera populaire where she was staying with Madame Giry and her daughter Meg

Madame Giry looked at Ruby who was full of cuts and bruises "oh dear" Madame Giry said as she tended to her injuries

"It hurts" Ruby said holding in her tears "I know it does but just be patient" Madame Giry said cleaning her wounds

End of Flashback...

Ruby's pov

A few days later I could see that Barnabas had been renovating the entire Collins house which indeed took a lot of work it made me mildly impressed

"Your certainly smitten with Barnabas aren't you" Lily said making me look down at her witha raised eyebrow "yes and" I said not denying it

"Your crazy" Lily said Later Barnabas took us to the old Collins fishing bay which had rats running through it 'it's indeed a fixer upper' I thought to myself

They took out the blueprints for the new improved collinsport fishing business I saw Barnabas glaring across the way at Angel bay

I walked up to him "Barnabas" I said snapping him out of his glare fest "yes my dear" he said "you seem rather content on bringing the Collins family back to power" I said

"Well it would be a shame to put it in ruins...I won't let anyone shame the Collins family" Barnabas said I kissed his cheek making him freeze in place "you keep doing that" I said with a genuine smile then walked away

Barnabas's pov

I slowly touched the cheekshe kissed and couldn't help letting out a boyish grin at the thought that she would let me court her

Some days later...

The Collins Canning Co...was fully operational with workers and everything I have successfully brought the Collins family business back to it's fruits of glory

But I needed fisherman to fish for us first then I had my devoted servant Willie take me to the bar where I hypnotized the fisherman

Another some days later...

I veered up to the young Carolyn's room looking inside "Barnabas why are you staring into Carolyn's room" Dr Hoffman said as she was passing through

"What is that thing" I said "it's a lamp" Dr Hoffman said "it looks like a pulsating blood urn" I said as I glared at it

3rd person pov

"I think it's time I showed you my office Barnabas" Dr Hoffman said thinking that Barnabas was crazy as she took him to her office

"Do you know what a psychiatrist is" Julia asked Barnabas "regrettably the word is foreign to me may I assume it is some species of American delicacy" Barnabas said

"It's a medical doctor who specializes in disorders of the mind" Julia said as Ruby was also there "why am I here" Ruby said questioningly

"I've heard you've had quite the interesting history with psychology so I thought you might help me and since you know your crazy I thought you could you know connect with him" Julia said

"Gee thanks" Ruby said sarcastically "now where were you born" Julia said as Barnabas answered "Liverpool" he said in a stoic tone

"Can you describe it for me" Julia said "filthy, the air is choked with soot and the streets reek of freshly hurled chamber pots" Barnabas said

"Have you any experience with hypnotism Barnabas" Julia said making ruby snort "I find it very useful" Barnabas said

"Yes I agree" Julia said getting her watch out "may I hypnotize you Barnabas" Julia said waving her watch around in his face

"Madame I do not believe that remotely possi..." Barnabas fell silent as he was in a hypnotized state making ruby unexpectedly baffled

"Now I'd like you to tell me a few things" Julia said only to get the most shocking things she's ever heard and went out of the office

Ruby got up from her seat and waved a hand in Barnabas's face then she rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers making the hypnosis break

"...Ible" Barnabas finished until he realized Julia was gone and Ruby stood in front of him "what happened" Barnabas said

"You told Julia everything when you were hypnotized including that you were a vampire I suspect right about now she's talking to Ms Stoddard" Ruby said

"Why didn't you stop her" Barnabas said as Ruby gives off a fake smile "I thought her reaction was amusing" Ruby said making Barnabas stare at her blankly

"Just what are you my dear it seems you hold secrets of your own" Barnabas said as Ruby chuckled "Barnabas you'll have to find out on your own" she said and walked out of the office

Barnabas felt curious about Ruby because why wouldn't he, she was absolutely magnificent and she was the only one who could put him in his place
