Bells ring out in the distance of a large city on an early morning, the birds chirping outside a Inn with a large, carved dragon on the exterior of the building. The barmaids inside the Inn were running around to feed the large crowd coming in to enjoy women, song and a hard drink. The mead was incredibly strong and any kid who couldn't hold the Blackberry mead was likely to black out in a little while. A groan comes from a room up in the second story of the Inn, the creaking of the bed underneath a mountain of fur and muscle. Raising up out of the bed, his left, round ear twitches as he sits up into the sunlight. Opening his purple eyes into the morning light, the man stands up a few minutes later, only to go back down to a hunched over position due to the roof being too low for his staggering 10 foot height. He goes over to the window and gets to his knees and places a fist over his left side over his heart. Closing his eyes, he recites a prayer he's said for years and one he will say for the rest of his life. "Thank thee for the sun and birds, Lord Bereus. May thy light shine down on thee and my travels across the land. May the beautiful Niena bless thee with the ability to do my duties with skill and efficiency. Thou pray for thy life, so that thee may serve the crown to the best of my abilities and hast justice guide my cutlass. Sut hei! " he says in another language before standing. As he stands, the door opens up with a maid leaning her head in. The tall man turns to look at her and she immediately tries to hide her face. "S-sorry, my lord. I shall await for thee to be properly clothed." she says as she rushes out of the room. The wolverine looked to himself and seen he was only in his Braies. "Thee has nothing to be ashamed of." he says, his gruff voice nearly rumbling the room. He then begins putting his Gambesons on before the armor of his suit. Each heavy, metallic step he took towards the door shook the door the poor Drocorian woman as the door opened. He looks down at her with a polite nod. "I thank thee for the wake up call, but it's unneeded." he says as polite as he can to her. She nods her head. "May I interest thee in a drink downstairs? Thy hast a free choice on mead." She says as she steps back away from his massive size. He steps out into the hallway and turns back to her from over his left shoulder. "I am interested in thy offer. Will thy accompany thee to the Tavern?" he asks with a smile. She nods her head and scurries past his large form and down the steps with him close behind.
As he enters the tavern part of the Inn, the chatter around the tavern slightly dulls at the giant wolverine walking through the tavern with heavy, dull footsteps. He pays no heed to the crowd as he reaches for the pouch of gold inside his travel pack. "This is for holding thy cutlass and shield for thee, the extra is for the black raspberry mead." he says to the Tavern and Inn owner as he places 33 solid gold Inti on the counter and the wolf tavern owner's jaw drops. "Th-thank thee, sir." he says as he turns and rushes into the backroom. After several seconds, he and two other maidens try to carry the sword and shield out of the back room. The wolverine goes towards them and grabs them from them. "Let thee carry these. Thy weight is more than thee can carry." He says as he takes the Sword and shield from them, hanging the shield on his back and putting the sword in it's place on his side. "One Black Raspberry mead, please." he says as he smiles to them. The tavern owner grabs the large bottle and hands it to him as he collects the Inti, still in shock at the amount he paid for a bottle. A bottle of Black Raspberry mead is only 8 Inti and 3 Crowns, but this knight paid nearly triple for the bottle for absolutely no reason. "Thy seems to hast enough Inti to go around. How about thee throw all that inti to us?" He hears. Turning around, he sees two bears standing behind him. One has solid black fur with a large, claw like scar across his face while the other was reddish brown with a black face while missing his right eye. "I would suggest thee go back to drinking thy mead. I doth not want to spill any more blood." He says as he turns back long enough to grab the bottle and turning around. He leans back as he avoids a drunken swing from the red bear that strikes the black one, knocking him down. The wolverine hicks the red bear in the stomach and he falls hard on the ground with his arms over his stomach. The sound of a sliding chair gets his attention as he looks to the left, seeing three more bears running towards him. He lays his large hand on the table and smacks a glass towards them, the glass shattering against the head of one of the bears and knocking him completely out. The others charge in towards him and he dodges one of the punches, striking the bear in front of him in the liver and making him crumple to the floor in pain. He is grabbed on the shoulder, but the well-trained knight takes the club out of his hand as he swings at the wolverine, taking the stick and hitting in the arm, shoulder then side of the head and knocking him out. As he turns around, he swings the stick into the stomach of another guy and he falls back. Swinging the stick upwards, he blocks a strike aimed towards his head and smacking two more away with the first bear that he blocked his arm with. He seen the glint of something metal in the hand of one of the bears and he seen it was a small 6-7 inch long knife. he avoids the wild, panicked strikes before getting his arm in a standing shoulder lock, twisting his wrist enough to snap out of place before lifting him up with one hand and slamming him hard down onto his back, knocking him out too. He quickly grabs his shield and spins around as the final bear's fist impacts the steel, breaking his hand with a resounding clang from the metal. It's then the rest of the denizens stare at the man standing in front of them. The giant shield in the shape of the Rucan Eagle, the pitch black eagle with the golden beak and platinum feathers gleams in the sunlight and with a swift shove of the shield, the final bear is knocked completely out with the loud clang of his skull impacting with the metal.
"Guardian Daniel. I did not recognize thee. Thank thee for stopping them." The tavern owner says gratefully. "Thy welcome. I'm sorry for all the damaged we caused. How much for the damages?" he asks as he takes the pouch out and opens it. "Nothing, Guardian Daniel. Thy don't need to pay anything." the tavern owner says as he pushes the pouch towards Daniel. Daniel reluctantly places the pouch in his armor and nods to him. "I feel as if thee needs to pay thee for the damage, but if thee insist." He says as he nods to him. "I shall be on thy way then." he says as he places the shield on his back and walks out, people walking after him and trying to talk to him as his heavy footsteps stir up dust on the dry roads.Walking through the large streets, he looks around at the people of the city. Everyone from Humans to Centaurs and even Elves and Orcs roamed the streets. The area he was patrolling was the southern province known as the Elder Marsh by the Wood Elves due to a large lake being near the walls of the city. As he walks, he remains vigilant to anything that don't sound like normal chatter. The day passes by as Daniel walks around the southern providence and stops a few fights and squabbles here and there before a courier runs up to him. "Guardian Daniel, the king calls for thee." the Elf says as she pants from running so far. The castle was nearly a mile in walking distance away and that's as the Harpy flies. "Thank thee, ma'am." he says as she runs off at incredible speed. Daniel was always amazed at the incredibly fast speed Wood Elves can run, nearly double the speed of a Centaur when running on dirt or grass. Daniel begins heading towards the large castle in the center of the city, its large, snow white walls towering up off the titanic rock it's built on, giving the King and Queen of Odonwood a 360 degree view of the entire city around the castle. Him personally, he wasn't much on the solid white walls that nearly act as a mirror during the sunrise and sunset, blasting the poor citizens with the sunlight on the east and west sides of the city. As he approaches the city about 30 minutes later, the guards near the main gates bow in respect to Daniel and open the doors quickly, allowing Daniel to walk up the 1,248 steps to the castle.
As Daniel enters the main hall, he pants a bit as he walks across the polished and colored marble floor, the floor being a giant murial of the Grand Rucan Eagle, a family crest that has ruled over Odonwood for nearly 200 years, the kingdom starting in 1240 BEL. The white and grey walls are adorned with the portraits of the Kings and Queens of the Rucan family, all 18 generations of the family and nearly all of them were human. King Liefus II broke the trend in 1111 BEL when he wed a Minotaur from the lands of Edrela and had the first half-breed child in the royal family. Even though the marriage, the previous King and Queen disapproved of their marriage and refused to see Prince Duras as their grandson and therefore the poor kid never really got to know his grandparents. Despite this, Prince Duras still attended their funeral and held no ill-will against his disapproving grandparents. Daniel was snapped out of his memory of the history of the Rucan royal family when he heard the door opens for the King and Queen, them both coming out of the Barbacan and walking to their thrones. Daniel then falls to his knee as he places his fist over his heart. "Sut Hei!" he says to the King and Queen. "Sut Hei, Guardian Daniel." both King Armon and Queen Anuka say as they nod to him. "Stand." King Armon says as Daniel immediately stands and looks to them. "I came as hastily as thee could, my King." Daniel says as he looks to them. "As quick as ever, Guardian Daniel. We received a letter from a town named Torrine near the edge of the Kingdom's borders near the Scarlet Forest. Thou hast an orc problem in the forest, a near nightly siege happens and innocent folk are being taken from their homes. They called on us to send help for them and thee are the only Guardian we know who is capable enough to help them. Would thy be against this mission?" King Armon says as he looks to him. "No, my king. I shall gladly take this mission." Daniel says as he nods his head. "Thank thee, Guardian Daniel. How soon are thee able to leave?" King Armon asks. "As soon as possible, my King." Daniel says. King Armon gestures to him to leave. "Then get on with thy mission." King Armon says with a joking smile. Daniel nods and turns and walks out of the castle. He then makes a plan in his head and heads towards the merchant area to purchase a map. He goes into the shop and buys a map, a bow and 60 arrows, a cooking set and a compass. As he gets to the city walls, he places the pack over his back and looks out to the far away lands of the town of Torrine, nearly 90 miles away. He looks down at the line of stone indicating the city limits and takes a right step off the stones and onto the grass of the outer world.
