▌ 𝐋𝐘𝐃𝐈𝐀 𝐁𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 up the hill to go home. She already knew it was past the time she was supposed to be home. "I hope my mom doesn't notice." She whispered to herself. She knew she wouldn't, but she hoped she would.
She made it to the place where she was taken from. She saw her backpack that was left behind when Bowers dragged her away. She picked it up off the ground and put one strap over her shoulder, and continued walking to her house. She slowly opened the front door and tried to close it quietly, hoping she wouldn't get noticed by her mom. "Why are you home past the time you should have been here by?" She heard her mom's voice come from behind her. She slowly turned around to face her mother.
"Mom, please don't be mad." Lydia pleaded.
"Mad? I'm furious! You are late!" Her mom shouted. Her mom then looked down and noticed the cut on her arm. "What happened to your arm?" She rushed over to her and grabbed her arm to take a closer look at him. "It's nothing." Lydia said. Her mother sighed, not really caring about the dirt on Lydia's clothes or the cut on Lydia's arm. She then slapped Lydia across the face. Lydia gasped. "I never want you to show up late again. Do you understand me?" Her mother asked through gritted teeth.
Lydia nodded as tears started to fall down her cheek. She walked up the stairs and into her bedroom. She set her backpack down on the floor and sat down on her bed. She buried her face into her hands and let out some sobs.
"Why is she like this?" She whispered to herself. When she lifted her head up, something caught her eye. She got up off her bed and walked over towards her desk, and picked up a bracelet. It was the bracelet her dad gave her before the divorce. She missed him so much. She hasn't seen him since she was eight years old because after the divorce, her mom got full custody, and her dad moved three hours away.
She didn't want to be with her mom. She wanted to be with her dad.

Lydia woke up the next day and realized it was the last day of school. She was relieved. No more dealing with Henry Bowers. At least, she hoped she wouldn't have to deal with him during the summer.
She got dressed and went downstairs. She then realized her mom was going to be out of town for a while. She hated being alone, but at least she wouldn't have to deal with her mother always yelling at her for some of the stupidest reasons. She brushed her hair, ate her breakfast, and grabbed her backpack before leaving to go to school.
As she was walking to school, she passed an apartment. She knew some girl from school lived there. Beverly Marsh. She had only heard about Beverly Marsh because of all the rumors that were spread about her.
She noticed her dad was outside. Sometimes, she would see him in some places. She always thought there was something off about him.
She continued walking to school.
