"Hey mum," I heard Lou say from the other room. "I was thinking about trying out for the X Factor." My brother on the X Factor?! This was the best thing I ever heard! I waited for a reply from my mum. "Louis baby what did you just say? The X Factor? Are you talking about that show that you watch with Felicite on TV every Wednesday?" "Yeah" Louis said "I think it would be really fun. I want to sing mum. I want to do something big with my life. I've been at acting school for a while and it's cool but I think it would be great to start a singing career. I love singing!" I smiled to myself. Louis always sung. The problem was that mum didn't want him to sing. If her little boy was to be famous, it was strictly to be from acting. My parents were rather protective of their children, a little too protective if you ask me. Mum was always controlling what we did and how we acted. If we didn't listen to her she got very mad at us. Before she could yell in Louis' face about his ridiculous decision I ran into the kitchen and hugged Louis. "Mum!" I said "Please let Louis sing! He sings to me sometimes and it sounds so good. I just know he will do great." Mum looked taken aback by my sudden appearance. "I'll ask your father." She said in a stern tone, clearly trying to change the subject.

A few hours later dad came home from work. He kissed mum and asked us how school was going and if we were acting well behaved. We told him what we said everyday which was "It's good dad and yes, we acted well." Then he pretty much ignored me and talked to everyone else. Why might you ask? Because Lottie was the pretty one. Daisy and Phoebe were the cute, little ones. Louis was the talented actor. And all I was was plain old boring Felicite, who no one payed any attention to. But I was used to feeling this way by now. For I had felt this way ever since the twins were born.

"So dad" Louis began "I was thinking about joining the X Factor." "What the hell is that?" Dad asked. Louis looked a little uncomfortable in his seat. "Well it's this show were they judge if you can sing or not. If you can, you get signed by Simon Cowell to get a record deal and become famous." "Bloody hell Louis, do you want people to think of you as a fag? Men do not sing! We act. I do not want to hear anymore about this Louis." He said with an angry tone. Louis looked crushed. "Oh alright, I guess you are right." He said "Sorry, it was a stupid idea. What was I thinking?" The rest of the time at the table was spent in silence. Dad sent angry glares at Louis occasionally but other than that no one really moved at all. Daisy was the one who broke the silence, saying that someone in her class was being mean to her today. She got immediate comfort from Lottie. I was upset though. "May I be excused mum?" I asked but dad replied "You hardly touched your food. You need some meat on those bones of yours." "I'm not hungry." I said softly. I knew dad would never hurt us but I had some doubts sometimes. Plus I was not going to eat dinner tonight. People at my school called me fat today. I am 11 and weigh 90 pounds. Is that normal? I feel fat so I don't eat much.

"Speak up!" Dad said. "I'm not hungry." I said slightly louder. Mum sighed. "Let her go." she said "She doesn't need much to fill her up." So with that I left. I went into my room and waited for about 30 minutes. I wanted to talk to Louis. He was the only sibling of mine that I actually really liked. Lottie was too perfect and I hated being compared to her. Daisy and Phoebe stole the spotlight of the house, which basically turned them into brats. Louis came into my room every night so that we could have our special talks. He realized that I didn't get much attention in the house and so he decided to give me some once a day. Sure enough, he came in. But something shocked me about him. He had a black eye.
