A violet phosphorescence engulfed the two Jujutsu High students. Kezume grinned and licked his lips, standing near the opposite end of the tunnel.
Sweet! I get to kill them in one go!
Hinotori glanced at Mizuki — whose uniform absorbed more blood by the second — and gave a shaky nod. The blue-haired sorcerer smiled faintly. He closed his eyes, his wavering voice struggling to surface.
"B-binding V-vow..."
The sharp-toothed sorcerer's face scrunched up as he averted his gaze back to the apparition; Mizuki opened his eyes.
"Sacrificial Surge."
A violent violet outburst devoured both sorcerers — its blinding luminosity lighting up the cursed spirit's hospital gown. Kezume's eyes widened. He shuddered, his mouths agape with rampant delight.
"Burn down the rehab centre!" exclaimed the apparition, a conflagration of polychromatic scintillations cloaking his body. "We'll shoot up cursed energy while surrendering ourselves to relapse!"
The blue-haired sorcerer reached out his hand towards the cursed spirit.
Every ounce of cursed energy I'll ever produce throughout my natural remaining lifespan...
A violet glare perfused all of the playing cards scattered across the asphalt.
...Manifested at once, with an unlimited output...
The cardboard ascended — constructing a tornado of over forty cards around the two sorcerers.
...At the cost of death.
"Maximum Technique: Prestidigitation Storm."
The cursed spirit blinked. He bent backwards — his swollen blood vessels disappearing underneath his skin — and clawed at his lower eyelids while squealing in ecstasy. A multitude of slender syringes containing a transparent substance appeared above and on either side of him, their needles facing the distant sorcerers.
"Maximum Technique: Ketamine Kingpin!"
Hinotori's hair fell over his eyes. He clenched his teeth, tightening his grip on the firework rocket before inhaling deeply.
"Follow my lead..."
In synchronicity, the blue-haired sorcerer took a shallow breath.
"...Mizuki."
The blood vessels in the sharp-toothed sorcerer's eyes spontaneously ruptured; a crimson liquid soaked Hinotori's scleras as he sprinted towards Kezume — a tempest of playing cards soaring alongside him. The apparition rejoiced with both arms outstretched, propelling the syringes in successive waves.
Shrapnel-like shards of glass drenched in clear droplets and flakes of coloured cardboard bombarded the tunnel. Crystalline fragments surrounded the sharp-toothed sorcerer's skin, subsequently swept away by a swift swarm of playing cards. The tip of a needle neared Hinotori's right eye. He grimaced, half of his vision vanishing — and returning after multiple cards zoomed past his face.
The cursed spirit snorted before snatching the last syringe hovering beside him. He stuck out his tongues, stabbing the needle into his left forearm.
Domain Expansion!
A prismatic luminescence inundated the area as the tunnel transformed into a vandalised hospital ward: graphic graffiti covered various surfaces, unknown fluids dripping from medical needles embedded within the ruined walls, floor and ceiling.
