The Forging

"It's almost time," Kayde thought excitedly, he was bouncing with joy this was a day he waited for, a day that took 5 years to come. Beginning his training as soon as he turned 8, Kayde was ready for himself to dawn his helmet. For a Mandalorian their armor was a badge of honor, everyone knew what it meant, but for Kayde the helmet was a sign of pride. The Lassiter Clan holds a close-hearted tradition for the Father of the family to craft their children's Helmets.

Kayde's father Kevre has spent many nights alone inside his workspace which only he was allowed in. However, Kevre soon comes out and solemnly looks away from Kayde out of shame, and informs Kayde, and his mother that he had to go out of town for about 2 Days to get a specific part that he was missing. Kayde was disappointed but kept a Happy expression for his father who was getting ready to depart. "You're the man of the house until I come back," Kevre tells Kayde who is helping his mother tame his brothers whilst she is feeding a Young Anya. Kayde nods at his father who soon leaves.

Asking a Favor

Kevre who just the night prior called an old acquaintance who he never hoped to hear from again.

"Well Well, Kevre it has been far too long hasn't it?" Said Bysro Ordo a fellow Mandalorian. "Yes it has been Bysro, I hope the divorce with your wife hasn't left you, and your son in too much trouble. How is Klayso anyway? Kevre responds with a slight bounce in his voice to sound more friendly. "Well you would know if you visited from time to time, and no the divorce went better than I hoped, but I know that you need something Kevre so drop the formalities and get to business" Bysro responded with a far more serious tone.

Kevre hated how Bysro can read him so well, and how straight to the point he is with business. "Yes well.... I need Clauren's assistance getting a spare part in the town she is in, but I'm low on currency, and I am hoping you could....maybe....smooth talk her into giving me a discount?" Kevre asked with a slight grimace knowing Bysro did not wanna talk to his ex-wife. After a moment there is no sound, but Bysro responds "What is so important about a part, that you need me to call that Sow!" Bysro said with venomous undertones. Knowing he pissed Bysro off, he had no choice, but to lower his guard to gain his sympathy.

"It's for my son....He is soon to be given his helmet, but I am missing just one part, all the shops in town ran out, and or closed. Clauren is the only one I know out of town who would have that part. Please Bysro do not do it for me, but for my Son." Kevre said soon counting down to Three, and as if on queue. "OH MY, YOUR SON IS GETTING HIS HELMET!! WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO!!". A click is soon heard after Kevre's ear begins to ring leaving his Earpiece damaged.

The Recording

After Kevre acquired the part he finished Kayde's custom Helmet and began his return home. Kayde was filled with excitement for his father's return, quickly embracing his tired father in a hug. Kayde brought home some fresh game he hunted with his Uncle, and with the assistance of his talented mother, he cooked an amazing stew that left his brothers drooling.

Kayde watched his father try his food, and a big smile grew as his father began to slurp it up, and asked for seconds. Kayde felt proud to be a hunter if he could keep doing this for his loved ones even if his father wanted to be more into blacksmithing like him.

After Kayde begins cleaning up he hears his father gathering the family, and struggling to keep his rowdy brother's at bay. Soon Kayde heard a clicking sound as well as some hushes from his Mother and Father. Confusing Kayde he checks up on his family who are all gathered together covering something. Kayde's confusion turns to excitement when his father turns and shows his new helmet.

The video stops as Kayde pauses the recording of his family, the same video he has watched over, and over again, one of the many nights they were happiest. Kayde loves to watch the videos his father made whilst he was testing the Camera function, even the more ludicrous parts. Setting his helmet down, and wrapping his long hair into a ponytail, Kayde begins to set his father's helmet down and presses the recording button.

Kayde clears his throat, stares at the Helmet, and opens his mouth to speak "Hey Dad, it's me again sending you another message. I wanted to let you know I discovered something here in Mandalore. A Temple, I do not know what kind of Temple, but Mr. Barakus seems curious about it. We are heading back to inform Mandalore herself! Honestly, I am a bit nervous, I hope I can make a good impression on her. Anyways Dad I should go, Tell Mom and the others I said Hi!"
