𓆗 CHAPTER V - HOME 𓆗

• NARRATOR POV •

Y/N was once again, sat in his room with towers of books surrounding him. He had a small ink spillage on his shirt, oops, and a bunch of empty scrolls and books spread out in front of him.

He was yet again fiddling with the rings.

There was clear desperation in Y/Ns research, although he couldn't find a singular thing about them. He did manage to translate the runes carved into the metal, which seemed to be in some old Viking language.

One had the symbol of creation.

Another had the rune of knowledge upon it.

The last had a rune of destruction engraved into its surface.

Y/N wasn't entirely sure what it exactly meant, but he was desperate to figure out. He was knocked from his thoughts by a knock at the door, it opened and knocked over a pile of books which landed on Y/N.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Zane apologised, as he gently picked up the books and put them to the side, "I came to give you this. It's from your parents." Zane held out a letter which Y/N took with a nod.

"Dinner will be soon." Zane said, before he left the room, being careful to not knock anything else over.

Dinner rolled around slowly, as the anticipation for Zane's cooking probably scared it away. The Ninja, Nya, Y/N and Sensei Wu were all seated around the dining table, hyping up Zane's food.

"Mmm.. Oh I love it when it's Zane's night to cook." Jay said.

"Hey.. I didn't hear any complaints about my duck chowder last night!!" Cole complained.

"Yeah that's because it glued our mouths shut. You really though Jay was speechless all throughout dinner? Jeez, sometimes I wonder how he's related to Y/N." Kai said, muttering the last sentence under his breathe.

"Yeah, please don't make that again." Jay said, before Zane entered the dining room with a good looking turkey, but the main focus was on his apron. It was pink and frilly, and made most of the people at the table giggle.

"Dinner is served." He announced, before everyone burst into laughter, even Y/N snickered lightly, "What's so funny?"

"Zane.. You're wearing a.. Even I wouldn't wear that!!'" Nya commented, covering her mouth to ensure she didn't have another laughing fit.

"You laugh because I take steps to ensure I'm clean after cooking?" Zane asked.

"Haha!!" Kai laughed, "No! We laugh because you came out wearing that ridiculous outfit!!"

"I guess we don't share the same sense of humour." Zane said with a nonchalant shrug.

"Well, how about this?' Cole asked before he threw a plate full of shrimp straight into Kai's face. Y/N was quick to grab the plate which contained his favourite food before it was used ammo.

"How could you not find that funny!?" Cole asked as the rest of the table besides Zane and Y/N laughed. Coles laughter was quickly stopped as a bowl of soup being poured on his head.

"Now you are brothers." Wu said, looking at Zane and Cole. Nya laughed and a food fight errupted in the room, which left Zane confused, and Y/N snuck off and into the kitchen.

The boy sat on the counter and started munching at his food, completely engrossed in it when Zane walked in with a pile of dirty dishes. Y/N looked up and they made eye contact.

"Y/N?" Zane asked, putting the dishes in the sink as Y/N's eyes watched him move. He put another piece of food in his mouth, "When did you get in here?"
