"V wake up you dip shit, the hoard is not that far behind us," Said Bill in a quiet voice "Wake up or I will burn your comic book collection."

"Alright, alright, I'm up, don't burn anything, okay," I said getting up slowly, "How many more from last night," That became a normal question I would ask when we camped in a city. I looked around while Bill looked outside to see if Jade was there, Jade was one of the members of our group that was sent to find a cure. Bill was the strong one, the one who would run into a fire and save someone. I am the smart one and the leader of the group, I was only sent because of my knowledge of the maps we read. Jade is the one we need for the cure, she's something special. After we left a hoard started to form behind us.

"I counted thirteen new ones, but they could have just been scouters," Bill said. Bill usually counts the amount of new Infected wrong because of Scouters and how many there are. Last time I counted 400 Infected in the whole hoard.

"Is Jade back yet, or is she still looting?" I asked while looking around Bill.

"No she's still out and hasn't sent a flare so I think she's safe," Bill said nervously. I wish Bill had listened to me when I said that the flare guns don't work, now he is on the lookout for red flares whenever one of us leaves.

"When are you going to ask her out? It's been four months she's been here and I can tell you have fallen for her. She's obviously single and there is no one else out there that she can be with. Just go for it," I said while standing up to grab the backpack on the table. My pack feels lighter as the days tick by. We have not found that many resources, and we are starting to run low.

"Well I don't think-" Bill started to say when Jade walked into the building that we made into a camp.

"What are we talking about boys?" Jade said while laughing.

"Nothing, just getting him up," Bill said, rubbing his neck.

"What'd you find? You were gone a long while," I asked.

"Found a gun store three blocks away I couldn't get in so I broke a window and got some new weapons," She said while walking to the table placing her bag on it and opening it up. There was a sound that seemed like cans banging around. "I also got some food. There was a camp closer to the middle of the city so I took some food from them and left them a letter telling them about the hoard."

"Jade, you could have made our lives harder, you know that. What if they find us now," Bill said concerned. In this world Factions never really work together, it's kill or be killed. I find that saying stupid because if it's kill or be killed, we would have died a long time ago.

"Hey I got us some more food we were running out, also they had a whole lot of food, they won't notice me taking a few cans of soup and beans, but off the topic of food I also filled the flasks," She said pulling out six 32 oz flasks. "And I got myself a knife," She pulled out her knife and it shined in the small amount of orange light coming from the window.

"Oh that's awesome, what else did you get?" I asked.

"Got some guns, suppressors, ammo, and some duct tape to protect you guys from the Infected bites," She said, pulling out the stuff as she lists it off.

"Great more stuff to carry," Bill sighed.

"I think that's perfect, we can now protect ourselves, from the Infected and people, how much longer are we staying Bill?" I asked shooting Bill a look that says 'ask her'

"We've got a few hours till we have to leave. There are some coming from the north so we'll head south-east," Bill said, eyeing me like I was crazy.
