"Is there a Greek god of disappointment?" Percy asked with a sigh, "Maybe someone should ask him if he's missing a kid."

Baylee looked at her brother, "Oizys... but she's a goddess. And her whole thing isn't really disappointment, it's more like failure." She told him

Percy had been at camp for a couple days now and had settled into a routine. Each morning he took Ancient Greek from Annabeth and Baylee. After that, Baylee followed her brother as he rotated through outdoor activities looking for something he was good at.

It wasn't archery, as the 12-year-old got an arrow stuck in Chiron's tail. It wasn't foot racing, as the wood nymphs left him in the dust. And it wasn't wrestling, as Clarisse would pulverize him every time he stepped onto the mat.

The only thing Percy really excelled at was canoeing. Baylee wished her father would claim Percy. She didn't know what he was waited for.

"We're gonna find the thing that you're good at. I know it." Baylee said, trying to comfort him

Percy gave a noncommittal noise, like he didn't believe her.

Which she understood. Some campers in the Hermes cabin have been waiting a long time to be claimed.

The 11 year old stood up, "It's time for sword fighting with Luke, want me to come with?" She asked

He shook his head, "No."

Baylee shrugged, "Okay. I'm going to find Clarisse." She told him before walking off

"Want company?" Baylee asked the daughter of Ares when she found her

Clarisse looked up with her eyebrows raised, "Shouldn't you be with Prissy?" She asked

"Percy, and No." The daughter of Poseidon flopped down next to her friend, "He has sword fighting with Luke. I prefer you to help me with my training."

The older girl was silent for a few moments, as if shocked by Baylee's statement.

"So what's the plan for tomorrow?" The younger girl asked

"Revenge." Clarisse said simply

Friday night after dinner, everyone was excited for capture the flag.

When the plates were cleared away, the conch horn sounded and everyone stood at their tables.

Campers yelled and cheered as Annabeth and two of her siblings ran into the pavilion carrying a silk banner. It was about ten feet long, glistening gray, with a painting of a barn owl above an olive tree. From the opposite side of the pavilion, Clarisse and her buddies ran in with another banner, of identical size, but red, painted with a bloody spear and a boar's head.

Baylee moved to her brother's side, unfortunately he was with Luke.

"Ares and Athena always lead the teams?" Percy asked

"Not always," Luke said, "But often."

Percy furrowed his eyebrows, "So, if another cabin captures one, what do you do- repaint the flag?"

Baylee laughed, "It's rare that other cabins win."

The newest camper looked between Baylee and Luke, "Whose side are we on?" He asked

"I am with Clarisse." Baylee told him

Luke gave Percy a sly look, "We've made a temporary alliance with Athena. Tonight, we get the flag from Ares. And you are going to help."
